🌟 Celebrating 100 Wonderful Years of Elizabeth 🌟
Today, we celebrate an incredible milestone — Elizabeth’s 100th birthday! 🎉
Born and raised on a farm, Elizabeth spent the first 17 years of her life surrounded by the simple beauty of rural life. At 17, she bravely boarded a train from Swift Current to Vancouver, paying just $18 for the journey that would begin a brand new chapter.
She found work at a bakery on Granville Street — one that’s still standing to this day — and in 1946, she married the love of her life. Their marriage lasted 62 beautiful years, filled with love, family, and resilience.
Elizabeth ran a successful sewing and alterations business right from her home. With just a photo for inspiration, she could bring beautiful garments to life with her hands and heart. ✂️🧵
She is the proud mother of 3 sons and has formed deep, sisterly bonds with her 3 daughters-in-law — a testament to the warmth and strength of her family.
She also recalled the construction of Fraserviews first building. Reflecting on the hard work and dedication that came from the church family during the process. Starting with a basement to hold their gatherings and working their way up. Building everything but the windows and pews.
Even now, Elizabeth walks three times a week — a quiet reflection of her strength and steady spirit.
At just 13, she made the life-changing decision to follow Christ. Her faith has been a guiding force ever since, helping her navigate life’s ups and downs with grace. She shared her wisdom with us recently: Don’t get hung up on the lows — God has given us so many beautiful moments to live in.
What a legacy. What a life. 💐
Happy 100th Birthday, Elizabeth — your story continues to inspire all of us. 💛
