This October will be the municipal elections in ottawa. Alongside *Ottawa Muslim Vote*, we’re hosting key mayoral townhall candidates.

This upcoming townhall is with Mark Sutcliffe (the incumbent mayor).
*This Friday Sept 4th @6:00PM*

We would like to urge all of you to register for this event.

If we want our communities issues included in platforms, then candidates need to see the strength of the community in numbers. This is a golden opportunity!

Join us for an exciting weekend of friendly competition at the 7th Annual Badminton Tournament, organized by MCC-NCR and hosted at Jami Omar.

📅 When: September 26 & 27
🕒 Time: 11am - 6pm both days
👥 Who: Two Tiers Tournament:

Tier 1 for players 50 years or younger (Max 16 teams).

Tier 2 for players over 50 years (Max 16 teams).

🏆 Trophies for the winning teams
🏆 Trophies for the runner up
🏆 Trophy for the Outstanding Player

📍 Where: Jami Omar Gym
💲 Fee: $25 per team

The 2026/2027 Al-Madrasa Noorul Islam: Sunday Fiq&Seera Registration process has begun alhamdulillah.

Who: Children (Ages 5 & up)

When: Sun. 11am-1:30pm or 10:30am-12:30pm (depending on time change)

Where: 3990 Old Richmond Road

Registration fee: $20/year per child (cash at admin office before1st class)

Start date: September 13th, 2026

❤️Thank you to all our seniors for showing up to the Jami Omar Seniors Group picnic, unfortunately the weather did not help us and we had to bring it inside but alhamdulileh we had so much fun!!

Jazak Allah to all our volunteers who helped organize the event it was a hit for all with plenty of games, food, fun and laughter.

May Allah swt bless our seniors program and keep it running for all.
