⛪️Why is it important to listen to the homily?

The homily helps us connect God’s Word with our everyday lives. Each time we listen with an open heart, we may discover a message, a challenge, or a reminder that speaks directly to where we are.

Come, listen, reflect, and let God’s Word accompany you throughout the week.

Celebrating 60 Years of Priesthood

This December, Fr. Martin Moser celebrates an incredible 60 years of priesthood!

For six decades, Fr. Martin has dedicated his life to teaching, serving, and walking in faith with others. From the classroom to parish life, his ministry has touched generations of students, families, and parishioners.

We give thanks for his vocation, his wisdom, and his many years of faithful service.

Good news from St. Peter’s Parish!

We are happy to share that St. Peter’s has joined the City of New Westminster’s City of New Westminster Adopt-A-Street Tree Program, and we have adopted three young trees near our parish! 🌳🌲🌳

👉Now we need your help to care for them.

☀️During the summer, newly planted trees need regular watering to establish strong roots and grow into healthy, beautiful trees. Through this City program, our parish community can take a small but meaningful role in caring for our neighbourhood and helping New Westminster’s urban forest grow.

We invite our parishioners, families, and especially our young people to join our Tree Watering Team, if you want to be oart please join us by sending an email to [email protected]

Grab a watering can, bring the kids, and help us give our three new parish neighbours the water and care they need.

Three trees. One parish community. Let’s help them grow!

The Catholic faith in British Columbia has a remarkable history, and the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) are deeply woven into it.

Beginning in the mid-1800s, Oblate missionaries travelled through what was then a vast and difficult territory, establishing missions, churches and Catholic communities across British Columbia. Their presence helped shape the early Catholic Church on the mainland, including New Westminster and the Fraser Valley. (Archdiocese of Vancouver)

That history continues among us today through priests such as Fr. Martin Moser, OMI, who has served as Pastor of St. Peter’s Parish in New Westminster.

This year is particularly special as we celebrate Fr. Martin’s 60th anniversary of priesthood, six decades dedicated to God, the Church and the people he has been called to serve.

We are truly blessed to have Fr. Martin with us and to celebrate not only this extraordinary milestone, but also the living legacy of the Oblates who have served the Catholic community in British Columbia for generations.

🌹Today we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, when Mary was taken, body and soul, into the glory of Heaven.

May her faith, humility, and unconditional love inspire us to trust God more deeply and to keep Christ at the center of our lives.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us and our families.

Our Lady of the Assumption, pray for us.
