1 Chronicles 16:8
"Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people."

This verse joins thanks, calling on God, and making His deeds known. We can begin with a plain account of one way we have been helped. It need not be dramatic: care during a difficult week, enough for a meal, or a timely word can be named honestly. Gratitude becomes clearer when it is specific rather than inflated.πŸ’–πŸ˜‡πŸ™

John 17:17
"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

Jesus asks the Father to sanctify His disciples through His word of truth. Truth is a gift that can orient us when daily life is crowded with competing voices. A clear passage, patiently read, may help us recognize an assumption, confess a mistake, or remember what matters. Gratitude for Scripture is not the same as claiming to understand everything in it immediately. We can receive guidance and remain honest about our questions. Nor does a quiet time need to feel impressive to be worthwhile. God's word can accompany a tired mind through a small, faithful return. Today, notice what truth has helped you stand more steadily: perhaps the courage to speak honestly or the relief of no longer protecting a false appearance. The gift is not mastery over every uncertainty, but a dependable place to keep bringing our lives.πŸ’–πŸ˜‡πŸ™

1 Timothy 2:1-2
"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."

The conditions perhaps most conducive towards worshiping our Lord and Savior are within times of stability, in an environment of calm and serene communion. This principle is as true for the home or church as if is for our greater society. Though we may never hope to attain God's Heavenly Kingdom here on earth, this is not so to say that a paradise of peace and understanding is also impossible. Rather, it is our duty to labor for God and partake in His creation, and support and nurture one another. If we dare to dream of the world we wish to inhabit as one conducive to worshipping His name, then it begins with generosity towards one's fellow man.πŸ’–πŸ˜‡πŸ™

1 Peter 1:24-25
"For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."

Through history civilizations have come and gone, men and women have achieved great and noble things, however from the perspective of Christ our Lord these are but ephemeral feats; empires have perished, monuments eventually crumble. Humanity is frail, but God persists. Though we are for the moment tied to our immediate flesh and body, our souls are eternal, communing with the word and glory of God, resonating in everlasting truth.πŸ’–

1 Peter 2:24
"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

Jesus carried our sins and suffered on the tree so that we could be forgiven. Jesus Himself was not to blame; God and Jesus are perfect, but God so loves the world that He gave His only begotten son. It could have been stopped at any moment if either of them wanted to, but the lesson that we have learned because of Jesus' suffering was essential. With His pain our sin is forgiven. All we can do is live righteously and attempt to pay the debt back in a small way.πŸ˜‡πŸ™

Please join us with our Prayer Revival Meeting at Rotors Bakery tonight- 7pm onwards.
Come and let us all kneel down in the throne of His grace. πŸ’–πŸ˜‡πŸ™

Psalms 23:1-3
"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."

At the time it was written, shepherding was a very common activity. Sheep are nearly defenseless against predators, and they scare easily, especially in groups. Let the Lord be your shepherd and guide you to more tranquil places. He will lead you on the right path if you are willing to follow. Think of the consequences for a sheep: follow and be protected, eat, rest, and survive or stray and be alone, starve, fear, and die. The choice is easy.πŸ’–πŸ˜‡πŸ™

What is it that you think about when you first wake up? Your busy day? Spouse? Children? Work? Money? Or is it God? The teachings of our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ have been passed down for thousands of years, and it is our duty to continue to pass the teachings and traditions down to future generations. He should be in our minds with everything we say, do, and even think. With God as the stronghold of your life, of whom shall you be afraid?πŸ’–πŸ˜‡πŸ™

Paul's message here is one of my favorites in the Bible: instead of thinking of the old decrees telling you what NOT to do, think instead of what you SHOULD do. "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." An important aspect that is often overlooked is whether or not you love yourself. Not causing harm to others and trying to love other people makes it much easier to love yourself. Leave everything else to God!πŸ’–πŸ˜‡πŸ™

Mark 9:35
"And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all."

As it says in James 4:10, "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." Does being first matter when there is everlasting life awaiting us? If you want to be first, Jesus says, it is not about being ahead of others or above them. It is about wanting to serve EVERYONE. Being the last person to want to be ahead is the only way to finish first in the Lord's eyes.

PRAYER:
We are Your servant, God. We are everyone's servant. We ask that You strengthen our patience, humility, and desire to help others. Forgive us for wanting to place ourselves above other people. We know this is wrong and we pray that You help us to remember the place that we truly want: next to You, our God, and Your son, Jesus Christ, in heaven. Amen.πŸ˜‡πŸ™

As a Children of God, we are inviting you to please join us with our Sunday Worship & Healing Service at Legion Hall- 10:30am.
