Hey all,
been sometime since I posted anything. We have been on a hiatus for the last year and enjoying the rest that comes with it. That being said, these last few months with the growing pandemic situation around the world has many people worried, sick, some dying and others simply panicking and doing some outrageous things. One of my observations as this plays out is how many Christians who are not necessarily observing all of the precepts, and values that are rooted in the Bible. Sensationalism theology end times, some discounting the event as minor, others simply not showing compassion when they themselves has been abroad and are passing this disease onto others, and in some other cases plain ole fashion arrogance rears its head and states that those who are sick and are dying deserve it. Regardless of your position whether you think it is more driven my media, possible government hidden agendas or some kind of a master mind diluted in hurting the world as the cause to this pandemic, we cannot discount people who are sick and dying. We must stop comparing this to other diseases and it's impact. Our neighbors, friends, co-workers and family are all dealing with this along with the rest of the world. Never has their been an event of this nature that has literally shut down the entire world in my lifetime. This is an unprecedented event. So, if we are the true church and truly adhere to the word of God, our responsibility is to be loving neighbors, be salt and light, show compassion and mercy, don't judge others, and certainly do not discount their suffering. Offer hope, offer help, offer oneself to show the same love that was offered to each of us on the cross of Christ is also being offered to the rest of this world. We are called to live out our faith in action, without action it is not faith at all. We are also warned to be observant and aware of such events along with the many others described in the Bible as indicators of the return of Jesus; we are simply called to be ready; not to worry, offer political views, or discount what is happening. Lets just do what we are called to do my friends.....love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, soul mind and strength, and to also love our neighbor. Offer prayers for the sick, the hurting, the many who are on the front lines working to heal the sick, the many others who are giving support to meet the worlds needs, from pilots, to truckers, police, fire first responders, and list goes on. Lets step up and be the loving church we are called to be, they will know us by our love!
As for our home, we will continue to serve our heavenly Father as best as we can, and when we fail we pray for his grace and mercy to carry us. I pray for our my fellow workers, family and friends to be safe, I call all of us to do the same.
God bless you all,
Pastor Blair
