St Joseph’s Annual Bazaar

This year’s Bazaar will be on Saturday November 28th from 10 AM to 3 PM.

The majority of items sold at the Bazaar tables, booths and on the paddle wheel depend on parishioner donations.

Donations boxes relating to each bazaar activity will be set out in the foyer starting Saturday, October 10th.

Each box itemizes suggestions as to what type of donated items we are interested in.

Donated items must be in new or nearly new condition. No clothes, electronics or books.

We will sort your donations and use them in the best way possible to make the Bazaar a success.

Thanks in advance for your generosity.

“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” — Matthew 16:16

In today’s Gospel, Jesus asks His disciples a question that echoes through every generation: “Who do you say that I am?” Peter responds with a bold profession of faith, recognizing Jesus as the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

That same question is asked of each of us. Our answer is revealed not only in our words, but in the way we live, serve, and trust God each day. Built on the faith of Peter, the Church continues to proclaim the truth that Jesus is our Savior and Lord.

🙏 Lord, deepen our faith in You, strengthen Your Church, and give us the courage to profess with our lives that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Blessed Feast Day of The Transfiguration

Both Roman and Eastern rite Catholics celebrate the Church's feast of the Transfiguration today, August 6, on its traditional date for both calendars.

The feast commemorates one of the pinnacles of Jesus' earthly life, when he revealed his divinity to three of his closest disciples by means of a miraculous and supernatural light.

Before his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Christ climbed to a high point on Mount Tabor with his disciples Peter, James, and John. While Jesus prayed upon the mountain, his appearance was changed by a brilliant white light which shone from him and from his clothing.

During this event, the Old Testament figures of Moses and the prophet Elijah also appeared, and spoke of how Christ would suffer and die after entering Jerusalem, before his resurrection.

Matthew, Mark, and Luke all record that the voice of God was heard, confirming Jesus as his son (Matthew 17:5, Mark 9:6, Luke 9:35). Peter and John make specific reference to the event in their writings, as confirming Jesus' divinity and his status as the Messiah (2 Peter 1:17, John 1:14).
