Joanna Werner’s parents exposed her to missions in various ways, even as a child. Her experience provides many great ideas to help your own children/grandchildren/Sunday School class grow in their appreciation for missions:
Joanna heard many missionaries' stories from her parents and through books. Their family attended conferences where missionaries shared updates. And they also hosted missionaries in their home on furlough. These are such great ways to make missionary stories feel real!

In 2023, Canada welcomed 51,081 resettled refugees. As these individuals flee dangerous situations and come to Canada, let's pray that they not only find physical safety, but also hope in Christ. Pray for Naomi House and many organizations like it working directly in this space.

Brett and Candace Loewen had plans of serving in Chad, Africa, long-term. But the Lord had other plans for them. Instead of across the globe, God brought them back home to Manitoba to serve cross-culturally.

They now work at Naomi House, a transitional home for refugees, walking with them as they rebuild their lives in Canada, through Christ-centred love and action. Candace heads up the refugee sponsorship program, while Brett is a certified driving instructor and offers lessons to newcomers free of charge. Brett and Candace see how God is using their unique skills to serve Him.

WorkerCare is an important part of MSC's ministry, designed to provide personal care, encouragement, and support to mission workers.

When a worker is contending with fellow workers who do things differently, when they or their kids are struggling to cope with cultural challenges, when there’s a crisis in their family on the field or at home. Each of our WorkerCare reps has years of missions experience and is available to mission workers as a valuable, sympathetic resource.
