Hope Bible Church Markham Stay up to date with the latest news from Hope Bible Church Markham We believe the disciples of Jesus Christ should minister to one another in the local church.

Hope Bible Church exists to Glorify God through the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) in the spirit of the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39)." The commission is fulfilled as disciples of Jesus Christ are made and grown in their relationship with Him. God is glorified as we manifest His presence as we do His work (2 Timothy 2:2; 1 Corinthians 10:31). Our obedience to the Lor

d's command is revealed in our lives as we worship Christ, walk with Him, and work for Him. It's not about one or a small number of pastors bearing total responsibility to care for the entire congregation. It's about all disciples using their God-given spiritual gifts to provide mutual ministry in the context of the vibrant and strong local church. Ephesians 4:11-12

What a sweet Sunday together. ❤️

We celebrated two child dedications—a special moment where parents publicly commit to raising their children to know and follow Jesus, and where our church family commits to supporting them in that journey.

Pastor Matt kicked off our new 3-part series in Hebrews 11, helping us see what it means to live by faith in Christ.

See you tonight, June 1 at 7pm, as we gather with the elders to pray. 🙏

Hope Women enjoyed a sweet time of fellowship this past weekend at our Women’s Spring Event!! We were reminded of God’s love for us—a love that never lets us down. We were also encouraged to hear how puts God’s love in action! Pretty cards were decorated and friendships were formed.

“God is love.” 1 John 4:8

So don’t journey alone! If you’ve been coming to our church for a while, we invite you to attend our Step 1 Class. This is the class where we share who we are and what we believe, where we’re upfront about everything so you’re not surprised or caught off guard, and where you can discern if this is the local flock the Lord is calling you to.

The Christian life is not a cruise ship drifting toward comfort. It is a spiritual battle. And in Ephesians 6, Paul reminds believers that God has not called us to fight in our own strength, but to stand firm in the full armour of God.

🪢 Belt of Truth — God’s truth holds everything together and protects us from the lies of the enemy.
🦺 Breastplate of Righteousness — We are called to walk in holiness and guard our hearts against sin.
👟 Shoes of the Gospel of Peace — The gospel gives believers steadiness, confidence, and peace even in trials.
🛡️ Shield of Faith — Faith in God’s promises protects us from fear, doubt, temptation, and accusation.
⛑️ Helmet of Salvation — Our minds are guarded when we remember that our hope and security are found in Jesus Christ.
⚔️ Sword of the Spirit — The Word of God is our weapon against temptation, lies, and spiritual attack.

The armour of God points us to Jesus Christ, who has already won the victory over sin, death, and the grave. God is holy and created us to know Him, yet every one of us has sinned and stands guilty before Him. We cannot save ourselves through good works, religion, or effort.

But God, in His mercy, sent His Son Jesus Christ to live the perfect life we could never live, die on the cross for our sins, and rise again from the grave. Through Him, forgiveness and eternal life are offered freely to all who repent and believe.

If you have never turned from your sin and trusted in Jesus Christ, today is the day to respond. Turn to Him in faith and stand in the victory He has already secured.

💥 WOW. 6 baptisms today! Praise the Lord for His saving grace and the beautiful testimonies we heard this morning. 🙌

Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and a beautiful picture of the gospel. Going under the water symbolizes being buried with Christ in His death, and rising out of the water reflects being raised to new life through His resurrection. Because Jesus died for our sins and rose again, we can be forgiven, made new, and walk in the hope of eternal life.

✨ If you have repented of your sin and put your faith in Jesus but haven’t been baptized yet, we want to encourage you to take this next step of faith!

A godly home is not built by self-help, trying harder, or human strength. It is built when Christ is truly Lord.

The good news of the gospel is not that perfect people earn God’s favour, but that Jesus died for those who fail. His grace is sufficient for weak parents, struggling children, weary workers, and broken homes.

When Christ changes a heart, it begins to show up everywhere — in our homes, our work, our relationships, and our everyday lives.

Jesus invites sinners, strugglers, and weary people to come to Him in repentance and faith. There is forgiveness, grace, and new life in Christ for all who trust in Him.

Will you surrender your home, your life, and your heart to Christ today?

💧Yesterday, we witnessed the beauty of the gospel through two baptisms. In baptism, we celebrate the reality that through faith in Jesus, we are symbolically buried with Christ in His death and raised to walk in new life with Him. What a joy to publicly declare that our lives belong to Him. Congratulations to both on this meaningful step of obedience and faith. We are rejoicing with you!

🙌🏼 We also welcomed Luke Logan to our staff as our Youth & Young Adult Intern. Please give him and his wife Sommer a warm welcome when you see them!

✝️ In his message, Pastor Matt unpacked God’s plan for children, fathers, and work as the Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 6:1-9. If you missed the message, be sure to listen to the bold preaching on youtube.com/HopeBibleChurchMarkham.

🩷 And to all the mothers and women who spent Mother’s Day with us today, thank you. We see God’s heart reflected in new moms, young moms, moms of teens and older children, moms of married children, and grandmothers. We honour mothers who faithfully worship the Lord, who are devoted to reading His Word, who are prayer warriors, who teach and disciple, who quietly serve behind the scenes, who care for aging parents, and who labour for the gospel locally and globally. We also honour the women who were not with us today because they were serving God elsewhere. We see the mothers walking through storms and valleys with steadfast faith. We see women who trust and wait patiently on the Lord in their struggles. And we see the invisible pain of those who have lost their mothers or loved one.

🙏🏼 Your love, sacrifice, strength, wisdom, gentleness, perseverance, and faithfulness. Your struggles, pain, quiet prayers, unseen tears, and steadfast trust in God through every season. Your life reflects the kindness of Christ and the cross you carry each day as you follow Him. May the Lord strengthen you, sustain you, and fill you with His peace and joy. May you know deeply that whatever you’re going through in the Lord is never in vain, and may Jesus and His grace continue to meet you in every season.

See you next Sunday! 🫡
