Today, we pause.
We remember the children who never made it home, and we honor the survivors, families, and communities who carry this every day.
Children were taken from their families and land and placed in schools run by the government and the church.
That is part of our nation’s story, and part of the church’s story too. We won’t look away.
Truth and reconciliation are Jesus things. Truth has to be known before healing can begin.
We can’t change the past, but we can learn, listen, and pray for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples across this land. As believers, we should be at the front of this.
Take time today to remember, reflect, and learn.
