Municipal offices

All municipal offices, including in-person Planning & Dev. permit offices and 311 Customer Service Centres, are delaying opening until noon on Jan. 26.

All essential services, as well as 311, winter operations and Halifax Transit are maintaining operations.

Snow routes for buses will be in effect on Jan. 26. Service disruptions will be announced as needed via .bsky.social on Bluesky and our website.

Solid Waste

Curbside collection of solid waste for Jan. 26, is rescheduled for Jan. 31. For Jan. 27 collection, do not place waste curbside until that morning to allow for snow clearing ops.

The Halifax Public Gardens will be closed on Jan. 26.

Support for those experiencing homelessness

Over the weekend, the municipality’s After-Hours Individualized Mobile Engagement team (AIM) engaged with those experiencing homelessness throughout the region to inform them of available shelter options, and where possible, help them with transportation to these shelters. The AIM team will continue to engage with people as needed in the coming days.

Remembering Rev. John Bartol
https://www.facebook.com/share/1C1u87vfm7/

We give thanks for the life and ministry of Rev. Dr. John William Bartol, who faithfully served Christ and the churches of the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada for 70 years. John’s life was marked by a deep love for the gospel, a passion for evangelism and discipleship, and a steady commitment to prayer, people, and proclaiming Christ everywhere he went. From pastoral ministry across rural, town, and city contexts, to mentoring leaders, teaching, writing, and shaping generations through resources like Life in Christ, John’s influence continues to be felt across our CBAC family. We are grateful for his faithful witness and the many lives shaped through his ministry. https://atlanticbaptist.ca/news-and-events/obituaries/ #2026-bartol

CHRISTMAS EVE IS COMING!
As the days grow closer to Christmas, We know a great many are looking forward to our Christmas Eve Family Carols Service. This evening service will begin this Wednesday at 6:30pm at the church.

This has always been a wonderful service that is open to people and families of all ages. We hope you will join us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus together, sing familiar carols, and experience the story of Christmas once again. Bring your friends, family, and neighbours. It will be extra special this year because we had to cancel last year due to the winter storm.
