Caregivers spend so much of their time caring for others. This gathering is an opportunity to focus on caring for themselves.

Join us for Black Women Caregivers: Collective Wellness, a wellness gathering for Black women caregivers who support family members, loved ones, and others within their communities.

Together, we will create space for rest, healing, reflection, meaningful conversation, and community connection while recognizing the emotional and mental labour that caregivers often carry quietly.

On Sunday at New Horizons Baptist Church, our Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Alfred J. Bailey II, preached a powerful message titled “Thriving in Hard Places” or “From Exile to Encounter,” based on Jeremiah 29:1–14 and Acts 2:42–47 (NLT).

This message challenged us to recognize that God is at work even in difficult seasons. Like the Israelites in exile, we are called not merely to survive hard places, but to thrive in them by trusting God’s promises, remaining faithful, and seeking His purpose for our lives.

Just as the early church devoted themselves to fellowship, prayer, worship, and caring for one another, we too are called to build strong, Spirit-filled communities that reflect God’s love and presence.

At New Horizons Baptist Church, we wait with anticipation as God continues to prepare us to take our church family to new heights.

Our Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Alfred J. Bailey II, spoke powerfully on this theme in his message last Sunday, “When God Starts Building, Nobody Stays the Same” and “Built by the Spirit, Joined by the Work.”

Drawing from Acts 2 and Nehemiah 3:1-2, Dr. Bailey reminded us that when God is at work, transformation follows. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and the commitment of God’s people working together, lives are changed, communities are strengthened, and the Church is equipped for greater service.

This is an excerpt from Dr. Bailey’s message.
