π²β¨ Fantasy Forest Baking Day Camp β Day 5 & THATβS A WRAP ON SUMMER AT WEST END! π§ππ¦
What. A. Summer. β€οΈ
Yesterday we wrapped up our final day of Fantasy Forest Baking Day Camp β and with it, another incredible summer of children and youth ministry at West End Baptist Church. π₯Ήπ²β¨
Our final Bible story was:
βA Wild Love β The Birth of Jesusβ β€οΈπ
π Luke 2:1β20; Matthew 2:1β12
Key Verse:
βAnd we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.β β 1 John 4:14
π Live It Out: God is UNFORGETTABLE!
And what a beautiful truth to end our summer with. β€οΈ
Our prayer is that these Bible stories, verses, conversations, friendships, laughter, and moments together will become more than just wonderful summer memories. We pray that the seeds planted will continue to grow, that our children will keep discovering who Jesus is, and that their relationship with Him will continue to deepen and strengthen long after camp ends. π±ππΎ
Summers at West End are pretty special. βοΈβ€οΈ
Over the past few years, our church, has prayerfully developed a vision for summers at West End that has grown from one VBS into multiple VBS weeks and day camps, expanding the scope and scale to create more opportunities for children to encounter God, build friendships, try new things, be creative, laugh loudly, ask questions, and know that they are loved and welcomed. π‘β¨
There is so much thought, prayer, creativity, planning, persistence, and behind-the-scenes work that goes into making these summers happen. But a vision only becomes reality when people are willing to come alongside it β serving, teaching, decorating, cooking, leading, giving, praying, organizing, and stepping into the gaps wherever they are needed. β€οΈ
This summer especially, we are so thankful for Lynn, whose creativity, commitment, and enormous amount of work on the ground helped make it possible for our two VBS ministries to continue, even while much of the planning and oversight had to happen from a distance. ππΎβ€οΈ
We are also incredibly thankful that West End Baptist Church is a safe, open, and welcoming space where we can host these programs and welcome children and families from both our church and wider community. It is such a gift to have a place where children can learn about Jesus, make friends, be creative, be loud, get messy, ask questions, and simply be kids. π‘π²π§π¦
None of this happens alone.
We are deeply thankful for our church family and leadership β for every prayer, donation, word of encouragement, financial gift, supply, meal, and helping hand. Your support helps make these ministries possible. ππΎβ€οΈ
We are thankful for the grants that allow us to hire summer students, and for the students themselves who have poured so much energy, creativity, patience, and heart into this summer mission. You helped take ideas on paper and turn them into experiences our children will remember. βοΈππΎ
We are especially grateful for the parents and caregivers who continue to trust us with their children. That trust means more than we can say. Thank you for allowing us to be part of their lives and their spiritual journeys. We pray that every encounter they have with Christ here becomes another step toward a faith that continues to grow, deepen, and strengthen. π±ππΎ
And this week, a HUGE shout-out to Henri β our kitchen MVP! π¨βπ³ππ§
We truly could not have done this week without you. Thank you for jumping in, keeping things moving, and helping us manage all the wonderfully busy chaos that comes with a baking camp! πβ€οΈ
We are also so proud of the teenagers who stepped up to volunteer. ππΎππΌππ» Watching you serve, encourage younger children, take responsibility, grow in confidence, and mature as leaders has been such a privilege. For some of you, we have watched you grow through these ministries over the years, and now we get to see you turn around and pour into the next group of children. That is something very special. β€οΈ
Through all of it β the planning, the unexpected changes, the long days, the worship, the Bible stories, the laughter, the friendships, the baking, the water fights, and even the wonderfully messy moments β we have seen the Holy Spirit at work. β¨ππΎ
God has been present in ways both big and small, and we are so grateful.
So today we look back with full hearts at everything God has done this summer, while also looking ahead with anticipation to what He will do next. πβ¨
Next summer will look a little different, as Tidal Impact, a weeklong youth mission conference (for grades 6-12), returns to Halifax! πππΎ That will bring new opportunities to serve, grow, partner with others, and see young people live out their faith across our city. Stay tuned for more information.
But for nowβ¦
π¬βοΈ Thatβs a wrap on Summer 2026 at West End Baptist Church! π
To every child, parent, volunteer, summer student, teenager, church member, donor, prayer warrior, and person who helped make this summer possible:
THANK YOU. β€οΈ
What a joy it has been.
And what a privilege it is to watch the next generation discover just how UNFORGETTABLE our God truly is. π²β¨πβ€οΈ
