Celebrating 60 Years of Religious Life: Fr. Ronald Rolheiser, OMI

What does it mean to live a life filled with purpose?

From a Saskatchewan farm to classrooms and ministries around the world, Fr. Ron's journey has been marked by experiences, meaningful relationships, and faith.

“Love of God and love of neighbour” are at the heart of our faith.

On the sixth annual Catholic Social Services Sunday, we give thanks for CSS and its mission to put Christ’s love into action. More than 2,000 employees and 400 volunteers offer compassion, care and connection to individuals and families in need.

As Archbishop Stephen Hero reminds us, this vital work is sustained by the prayers and generosity of our Catholic community.

The Archdiocesan Presbyteral Council met on Oct. 13. The following priests have been appointed Deans by Archbishop Stephen Hero:

Rev. Matthew Hysell (Edmonton North), Rev. Roger Niedzielski (Edmonton South), Rev. Thomas Basani, SAC (Edmonton West), Rev. Chinnapparaj Balraj, SDB (Edmonton East), Rev. Roger Rouleau (Camrose), Rev. Varkey Kummananchery, CMI (Vegreville), Rev. Andrew Bogdanowicz (Red Deer) and Rev. Anthony Narisetty, SAC (Edson)

Rev. Mark McGee is vice-dean of the Edmonton West deanery.

Each of the eight deaneries will elect a Vice Dean to assist the Dean. The Archdiocese's parishes are organized into eight regional deaneries. Through regular meetings of the clergy in each deanery, and, where appropriate, parish staff, our deaneries strengthen communion and cooperation among those engaged in ministry, fostering mutual support, shared pastoral responsibility, and effective information sharing.

Please pray for our newly appointed Deans and for all who serve in our deaneries, that the Holy Spirit may guide them in their ministry.
