Grateful, Thankful, Blessed
Here we have #2 for this week!

Food for the Soul

Before food for the bodies came food for the SOUL, provided by three of our VERY TALENTED youth.

We are so grateful to Andreas, Emilie and Lukas for their musical participation, Andreas on violin, and Emilie and Lukas on the piano. Fun… and well done!!!!

Grateful, Thankful, Blessed
And yet again we have so much to be thankful for that we need to include 2!

Food for the Body

Our St. Andrew’s Men’s Group did us proud on Sunday, September 23rd as they once again provided a ‘Cornfest’ meal for us following morning worship. This hard working group had a menu of corn on the cob, hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, and even dessert!

If you missed it this year, don’t miss it next! It’s become a yearly event. Thank you to Terry Basaraba and his team of mighty men. You are appreciated!

Sep 6, 2026 - Welcome to Newcomers!
Rev. Laurie McKay

In the parable of the sheep and the goats, Jesus surprises the listener. They ask, “When did I see YOU hungry, or thirsty or in prison or a stranger?” Welcome includes those who are on the boundaries. Jesus meets us there. Jesus upsets polite society in his radical welcome. We practice this radical welcome at church so it’s easier when we leave this place. We are fed at the Lord’s table, sustained by grace that we too are welcomed. The Nuer fellowship welcomes those who have recently arrived from Sudan.

To prepare for this week, read: Matthew 25:31-46

Please join us for in-person worship at 10:00 MDT Sunday morning or use the following link which will be updated Sunday morning by 9:30 am to take you to our live streamed service: https://www.standrewscalgary.ca/pages/live-streaming-worship

Mark your calendars for a change in worship services times for Sunday, September 13th: 12:00 noon
September 13th will be an exciting service for ALL of us at St. Andrew’s, whether you are part of our morning (English) or afternoon (Nuer) worshipping congregations.

Our youth and their leaders will lead worship as they share their experiences at Collective (youth conference in Ontario) this summer. Mark your calendars for a change for BOTH our morning and afternoon worship services, as we will be having ONE JOINT SERVICE AT 12:00 NOON, followed by a pot luck feast in Trinity Hall.

Our Fall GriefShare program runs every Tuesday starting September 1 to November 10, from 1.30 pm – 3 pm in the lower Fireside room.

GriefShare is not just a program, it is a church - based movement that reshapes lives, promotes healing and spreads God’s kindness. GriefShare creates a world where people embrace each other’s pain and walk together toward healing. This 11 week program offers video supported information outlining the various stages of grieving. Group discussions and journalling make up the two other components.
If you or someone you know is grieving the loss of a loved one, please consider joining us.
Your facilitators for this session will be Judie Coleman, Alice Williams and Allie Turnbull.
Please contact Judie at [email protected] or speak to the facilitators if you want more information. To register please visit the website, www.griefshare.org/findagroup
