In Week 2 of our journey through Hebrews, we are challenged to move forward into spiritual maturity. The writer of Hebrews reminds us that following Jesus is not about simply receiving the basics of faith—it is about continually growing, putting God’s Word into practice, and developing a faith that perseveres.

Through the picture of milk and solid food, we are encouraged to examine whether we have become comfortable where we are or whether we are allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us into greater maturity, obedience, and faith. God has better things and better promises ahead, and He invites us to keep growing until we become the people He has called us to be.

The question is simple: Are we willing to keep moving forward?

In the opening message of the Higher series, we begin our journey through the book of Hebrews by discovering a greater revelation of who Jesus is. Hebrews calls us to look beyond the Jesus we remember from the Gospels and see the risen, reigning Christ—seated at the right hand of God, higher than every power and authority. Jesus is not distant or inactive; He is our High Priest, interceding for us, giving us access to God’s presence, and providing grace and strength for every challenge we face. When our vision of Jesus becomes greater, our faith becomes stronger. Whatever situation we find ourselves in, the way out is up: fix your thoughts on Jesus.
