Fairview United Church

Fairview United Church We are a Congregation of the United Church of Canada serving the north end of Brantford Ontario and beyond!

Our Mission Statement: Embracing Faith -- Sharing God's Love. Fairview United is a thriving United Church congregation located in the North End of Brantford Ontario, just north of the 403. We are a warm and welcoming group, who strives to always live out our mission statement -- Embracing Faith and Sharing God's Love. With an active Sunday School, a talented choir and an excellent lectionary based

program, we have an exciting Sunday morning service each week at 10:30 am. We also work hard to live out our mission in the community, supporting many programs through our committed outreach committee.

This fall, we’re going back to the roots of Christian life: learning together, sharing the table, asking honest questions, caring for our neighbours, practising justice, finding rest, and discovering where God is already at work in our ordinary lives.
This is not about making church unrecognisable or discarding the traditions that have carried us. It is about asking what those traditions are for, and how they can continue to form people for lives of faith, courage, compassion, and hope.
Our Sundays will move through a gentle monthly rhythm:
The Table: communion, prayer and belonging
The School: scripture, questions and learning
The Sabbath: rest, wonder, creativity and attention
The Road: putting faith into practice in our everyday lives
Along the way, we’ll explore some familiar biblical stories and some you may never have heard before. We’ll make room for questions, doubt, deconstruction, and discovery, trusting that faith does not become weaker when we examine it honestly.
We will also ask what Christian witness looks like in a time when religion is too often used to justify division, nationalism, exclusion, and power. The prophetic tradition has always invited people of faith to imagine another possibility:
What if the world does not have to remain as it is?
What if every human life is sacred?
What if our neighbours are not expendable?
What if faith calls us not to defend a tribe, but to become people of courage, generosity, truth, repair, and love?
So rather than asking only, “What should Christians believe?” we’ll ask:
What does it mean to live as a disciple?
No expertise required.
Bring your questions, your curiosity, your doubts, your experience, and yourself.
We are all still being formed.

Join us, Sundays at 11am, starting September 13th.

Naramata Centre is on Okanagan Lake. It is historically connected with the United Church of Canada, as is our local Five Oaks Centre. During the Summerland wildfire evacuation the Centre cancelled 2 weeks of paid programming in order to provide shelter and support to those fleeing the fires. The attached video is a summary of that experience, of living out "love thy neighbour".
