Cinnamon Buns - When you know, you know!

Some camp traditions are just too good to let go—and the early-morning cinnamon bun tradition continues. There’s something tortuous and pretty special about gathering around warm cinnamon buns while most of camp is still sleeping.

Not because I was late getting myself somewhere, I was desperate to say goodbye to one of our students before she left. I was late because of the misty photo below, the mist on the lake beckoned me to take in the peace and tranquility of the morning. Praise God for people who use their story to create a legacy.

On the weekend, our staff had the opportunity to step away from camp for a fun evening at Lotta Rock in Shannonville. It was a chance to enjoy a change of scenery, and simply have some fun together outside of the usual camp routine.

But what made the evening especially meaningful was why it was happening.

This event was hosted by generous supporters of camp who are using their own story to make a difference in the lives of others. When they were children, they attended camp—and that experience changed their lives forever.

Now, they’re giving back.

They’re helping make it possible for another child to experience camp, to find belonging, to encounter Jesus, to make memories, and perhaps to have their own life changed in ways they can’t yet imagine.

What a beautiful picture of legacy: someone invested in you, you were changed, and now you choose to invest in someone else.

We are so grateful for supporters who don’t just remember what camp meant to them—they are helping ensure that the story continues for the next generation.
