TRINITY
Trinity is a central biblical doctrine in Christianity which describes the Nature of God as three distinct Persons - God The Father, God The Son [Jesus Christ] and the Holy Spirit existing as Unity in Godhead. Even though they are three distinct but they are inseparable, equal in power and essence
Muslims claim that Trinity was endorsed by Constantine Emperor in the year 325 AD during the Council of Nicaea, which was the apparent heresy raised by Arius who denied Jesus Christ equality with God the Father and Holy Spirit. That means Trinity was already being preached way before Constantine or all Roman Emperors.
He had 3 points that he was preaching regarding Jesus Christ
1. Subordinationism: He said Jesus and God the Father are not equal, [1 John 1:7 refute that, John 17:5 refute that, JOHN 10:30 refute that still, even John 1:1, The Word was GOD ]
2. Jesus divinity: Also said Jesus was just a human being. If Jesus was just a mere man, why was He being crucified or stoned? John 10:33 says "“We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
3. Jesus createdness: He said there was time that Jesus didnt exist [wrong, John 8:58 says before Abraham was, I am]
Trinity is the doctrine found in the bible, not because of the Nicaean Creed. Hundreds of years before Constantine was born, Apostle John through the Power of the Holy Spirit was inspired to write about the Trinity. Remember John was the eyewitness of Jesus Christ
First, whoever believes that Jesus [humanity] is Christ [divinity] is born of God. There is much factual evidence proving Jesus is Christ.
Quran 3:45. (Remember) when the angels said: "O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah gives you the glad tidings of a Word ["Be!" - and he was! i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary)] from Him, his name will be the Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), held in honor in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allah."
This acknowledges that Jesus is the Messiah, which means it is true according to quran.
Second, Jesus is the Word of God [Kalimat Allah] according to the Quran.
Quran 3:39. Then the angels called him, while he was standing in prayer in Al-Mihrab (a praying place or a private room), (saying): "Allah gives you glad tidings of Yahya (John), confirming (believing in) the Word from Allah [i.e. the creation of 'Iesa (Jesus), the Word from Allah ("Be!" - and he was!)], noble, keeping away from sexual relations with women, a Prophet, from among the righteous."
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God.
God and His Word are inseparable, of the same essence. So Jesus is not created through the Word of God. He is The Word of God.
Let's look at the bible now. 1 John 5:7
7 For there are three that bear witness [a]in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
- The Father
- The Word [Jesus Christ according to both Quran and Bible]
- Holy Spirit
These are 1, they are not three gods but One God! Jesus Christ said, I and the Father are One. Jesus Christ said, Holy Spirit comes from the Father.
The Doctrine of Trinity is not an invented doctrine but rather biblical doctrine, evident from Scriptures.
