Preacher: Pastor Onty
Theme : Walk Worthy of your calling
Ephesians 4 : 1
Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.
Giving time
Acts 20 : 35
I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."'
Proverbs 11 : 25
The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
Giving is always better than to receive.
Ours is to give without except expecting anything in return.
Proverbs 19 : 17
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
We must give cheerfully unto God. We must recognise that resources must be used to help others and do the work of God.
When you give with an open heart, God will bless you.
Giving is not a financial obligation but it's our act of worship and honour to God. God is always doing great for us even when we do not see it.
Hosea 14 : 8
"O Israel, stay away from idols! I am the one who looks after you and cares for you. I am like a tree that is always green, giving my fruit to you all through the year."
God illustrates His non verbal love to us. God loves us unconditionally.

Opening Scripture
Luke 22 : 31 - 32
31 - And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 - But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Msg : The two schools
(The school of the Chaldeans and the school of the Tyrannus)
Daniel 1 : 1 - 12
1 - In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.
2 - And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.
4 - Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
5 - And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.
6 - Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
Acts 19 : 8- 9, 23 - 28
8 - And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
9 - But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
23 - And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.
24 - For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;
25 - Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.
26 - Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:
27 - So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.
28 - And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
The church has missed to teach the boy children the work of God.
Luke 2 : 42 - 52
42 - And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
46 - And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
47 - And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
48 - And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
49 - And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
51 - And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
The fathers are to start training the boys at the age of twelve (12) the word of God.
The Son (Jesus Christ) is the download of God.
Hebrew 1 : 3
who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
He is the express image of God the Father. Everything that the son reflects what the father has taught him from the age of 12.
The school of Chaldeans
The school of Tyrannus
In Daniel 1, Nebuchadnezzar was building a system by taking the youth to revolt against the system of God.
The system of Babylon encourages the appetite for earthly things. It quenches the desires for the gospel and pushes the people into the deepest things of the world.
Ephesians 6 : 12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
The moment we are born til we depart from earth, we are all fighting against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The Babylonian system teaches people not to allow correction or see it as abuse.
We must refrain from continuing in sin claiming we are of His grace. We must not to entertain secret locations (ie live shady lives outside church) but seek God openly.
Daniel 1 : 8
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
The food of Babylon are not to be eaten.
God is a jealous God. Once you mix Him with the worldly fantasies He moves away. Don't allow yourself to be swallowed by the Babylon system.
Daniel chose to not defile himself.
Paul taught against idol worship. His teachings caused havoc amongst the Ephesians and offended some craftmen.
Some people turned to God and forsook buying carved gods to worship.
We must be freed from the teachings of Babylon and turn to God; for in Him we love, in Him we move and in Him we have our being.
We are to come to mount Zion where there is deliverance, joy and pleasures forever.
Eph.1 : 3 -
3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
7 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
It's all about the blood of my Jesus.
Colosians 2 : 10
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
We are complete in God and lack nothing. We are to be rooted in Christ Jesus because He is surely coming and every eye will see Him. There is nothing good on earth and as such we must hate the world and all it offers.
God is the only Giver of trues and fulfilling life. In all our suffering, we must remember that the name of the Lord is a strong tower that we run to it and we are safe.
Our lives should reflect Christ and encourage others to seek the living God.
We must be revived in our walk with God and never be ashamed of sharing His word.
The love of God is magnificent.
