After God miraculously delivered the Israelites from slavery, they grumbled against Moses and longed to return to Egypt. In the same way, we are often tempted to return to the slavery of sin. Too often, we give in to that temptation, drawn by the false comfort of what is familiar while forgetting the pain, brokenness, and sorrow that inevitably follow. Sin may appear appealing for a moment, but its end is death. Confess your sins to God, turn from them in repentance, and commit yourself to “go and sin no more.”
