If Jesus is the ultimate, perfect model of holy living, then how he lived matters. He didn’t just die for us; he showed us how to live.

We live in a culture that loves the grace of Jesus but actively throws away the lifestyle of Jesus. When we rewrite the text to make his choices look "outdated," we are fundamentally changing the definition of holiness.

People today routinely use "the Spirit" or "Christian liberty" to rewrite clear biblical boundaries. They say, "The Spirit led me to leave my spouse," or "God knows my heart, so this specific commandment doesn't apply to me."

In Ezekiel 36:27, The Holy Spirit was given to cause us to keep God's laws, not to break them.

The Spirit will never lead you to do something that the Word of God calls sin.

When Christ died on the cross, he paid our legal debt. If a judge cancels your outstanding traffic tickets, your debt is cleared—but the speed limit is not abolished.

Grace does not mean the rules of the kingdom disappeared. Grace gives us the power to finally follow them. Without the Law, we lose the very tool God uses to define sin.

Never let someone make you feel legalistic for trying to live like Jesus lived. If Jesus didn't do it, avoiding it is always a safe, holy choice.

Scripture seems to teach that the world will get worse and more sinful before the Messiah returns. For instance, Jesus says that “lawlessness will be increased” in the end days (Matthew 24:12). But that is not the whole story. Two verses later, he also says that the gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world before the end comes (Matthew 24:14). So, while lawlessness increases, the gospel also increases. As the darkness intensifies, so does the light.

Until the Church understands what the prophets, the apostles, and Jesus Himself taught concerning Jerusalem and the Jews; until we grasp just why they wept over Israel; indeed, until we shed tears that are kindred to theirs, our eschatology will be muddled, myopic, and misguided.
