It was so wonderful to be able to host the Watoto Children’s Choir at Salisbury Uniting Church last weekend. What joy they brought to the church! It was extra special to have the Salisbury Congress Church with us, who also shared some songs in Pitjantjatjara with Watoto and our community. It was a beautiful reminder of the richness of our church when different cultures, languages and communities come together.

Thanks to this amazing bunch of volunteers who week after week through Uniting in Care Salisbury provide food, lunch, vouchers and most importantly care and compassion to those doing it tough in our community. As we reflected on this morning in our devotions this work is the holy and sacred work of God and it is our joy to participate in it. We are so grateful to every one of our volunteers in this picture and the many, many other volunteers and members of the Salisbury Uniting Church who support this ministry in a myriad of ways. Bless you.

Together with Adelaide Congress Ministry, we are looking forward to hosting the Watoto Children's Choir from Uganda, on Sunday 30th August 4pm, here at Salisbury Uniting, 59-61 Park Terrace. Come along for a vibrant and colourful performance that includes gospel music and stories of restoration and hope.

At Salisbury Uniting Church, we were blessed to hear Mahendra share his story with us. It is a story of courage, perseverance, and hope. After overcoming a tragic accident, Mahendra has been selected to represent South Australia at the Special Olympics, a remarkable achievement and a dream hard won.

Thank you to everyone from SUC who has supported Mahendra. He is now halfway towards reaching his goal, and if you would like to help him take this next step, you can use the QR code to support his GoFundMe page.

Blessed to be a blessing. It was a joy to offer free coffee this morninf to parent and carers returning to school. Thanks to everyone who came along, helped out, baked and shared a chat with us. We are grateful to be part of this community.

Our new community garden is a small but beautiful sign of the ways God is at work, making things flourish, among us. Thank you to all those nurture this space and share it with our community.

On my morning walk this morning I was stopped for a moment by this group of magpies singing. Their song reminded of God’s presence in our community. As a church we love being part of this community. We see God at work here.

This Sunday we are beginning a series on Genesis and those magpies reminded me that creation still sings, and that God’s ongoing story of creation and redemption continues in this time and place.

Salisbury Uniting Church goes to Synod. Its being great to meet new people and hear about and be part of what God is doing across the church in South Australia. Its a massive committment though so thanks to Rob, Martin and Hein for the time they've given to this.
