31.May.26 — Our Sunday Takeaways

Ephesians 4:7–16 teaches that Christ has gifted His church with both spiritual gifts and leaders to equip believers. As each member serves faithfully, the church grows in unity, maturity, truth, and love, becoming more like Christ.

24.May.26 It is important to understand God’s plan for Israel, which goes back to the call of Abraham. God’s promise of blessing to Abraham in Genesis 12:2–3 was not limited to him alone, but continued through subsequent generations, including blessing for those who bless him and judgment upon those who dishonour him. Hundreds of years later, Balaam’s prophecy over the nation of Israel in Numbers 24:9 echoed this same truth:

“Blessed are those who bless you, and cursed are those who curse you.”

While Australia as a secular nation, may at times make decisions not fully aligned with the Christian faith, the Jewish people remain significant in God’s redemptive plan.

We thank Dr. Les Crawford for gracing HCC and sharing a very enlightening and insightful message on the war in the Middle East from the biblical perspective.

Let us continue praying for the Middle East — including Israel and the surrounding nations and regions affected by conflict such as Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and especially Iran.

Let us also stand against the rapid rise of violent antisemitism and show love, compassion, and support for the Jewish people, while continuing to pray for peace, justice, and the hope of the gospel for all peoples.

📣 You are warmly invited to join us this Sunday, May 24, at HCC Worship Service as we welcome our guest speaker, Dr. Les Crawford.

Together, we will seek a deeper biblical understanding of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and reflect on how God’s Word guides us to respond in our present context — especially amidst the growing hatred and hostility toward the Jewish people.

Come and be encouraged, informed, and grounded in Scripture as we worship and learn together.

Ephesians Series: The Applications of the Christian Faith
Sermon #9: Sevenfold Unity
📖 Ephesians 4:1–6
🎙️ Bro. Jeniel Pascual
📍 34 Liberman Road, Para Hills SA
⏰ Worship Service: 11:45 AM

Praise the Lord, we have now transitioned to the second part of our Ephesians series, beginning with Chapter 4, which focuses on the practical application of the doctrines and theology taught in the first three chapters.

➡️ "Therefore, walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called." The word “therefore” serves as the bridge connecting the theology of Chapters 1–3 to the practical Christian living found in Chapters 4 - 6.

🚶 How do we walk worthy? (v.2)
1️⃣ Humility
2️⃣ Gentleness
3️⃣ Patience
4️⃣ Bearing with one another in love

🤝 The Sevenfold Unity
In this passage, apostle Paul speaks about the unity of believers in Christ — the seven pillars that hold us together as a church.
1. One Body - The church united in Christ
2. One Spirit - The Holy Spirit who dwells in believers
3. One Hope - The shared hope of salvation and eternal life
4. One Lord - Jesus Christ
5. One Faith - The common Christian faith and gospel truth
6. One Baptism - Our identification and union with Christ
7. One God and Father of all - God the Father who rules over all believers

11.05.26 — Praise God, we concluded our study on the Lord’s Prayer in Questions 99–107 of the Westminster Shorter Catechism.

Thank you to Elder Jeniel Niel Pascual for faithfully labouring in the study and imparting to us the biblical teachings on how to pray — with reverence, dependence on God, confession, submission to His will, and trust in His provision, forgiveness, guidance, and deliverance.

Questions 99–107 of the Westminster Shorter Catechism explain and unpack the Lord’s Prayer as Jesus taught believers to pray in Matthew 6:9–13.

We finished the study with Question 107: “What doth the conclusion of the Lord’s Prayer teach us?”

Answer: The conclusion of the Lord’s Prayer is, “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.” It teacheth us to take our encouragement in prayer from God only, and in our prayers to praise Him, ascribing kingdom, power, and glory to Him; and, in testimony of our desire and assurance to be heard, we say, Amen.

The chief end of man is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever. As all things begin in God, so they end in Him:
“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.” — Romans 11:36
