Being at peace with God feels like wearing the perfect pair of trousers—not too tight, not too loose that they slip down, just pure comfort.
Imagine you are playing the game of life. In Isaiah 1–2, the people of Israel kept making God shake His head because they were being so rebellious.
It is just like when we are told to take a bath, but we hide under the bed instead. God was upset, but He said: "Come now, let us settle the matter! Though your sins are as red as strawberry syrup, I will make them as white as milk!" That is God wanting us to make peace.
Why do we need to be at peace with God? Because if we are proud and think we know it all—like the people mentioned in 2 Corinthians 10—we will only exhaust ourselves. Winning a war in a video game but losing in real life is a total fail!
People who refuse to be at peace with God are like the ones described in Psalm 52: they love to lie and think they are invincible. The end result? They collapse anyway, just like a Lego tower knocked over by a cat.
Here is a funny tip from Proverbs 22:26–27: "Do not be one who shakes hands in agreement or puts up security for debts; if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you!"
Oh no! Do you really want to sleep on the cold floor with the cockroaches? Of course not! That is why we should not live a flashy, reckless lifestyle that only brings headaches.
Being at peace with God means throwing up the white flag, stopping our mischief, and hugging God tightly.
When we are at peace with Him, our hearts feel like we just ate the biggest chocolate ice cream in the world on a scorching day: Ahhh, so refreshing!
You do not need to fear the darkness or the monsters under your bed anymore, because the Boss of the Universe has become your best friend.
So, put down your gadget for a moment and tell Him: "God, I am sorry for being a bit fussy lately. Let's be best friends again!"
