The Drukpa Dance Competition is more than just a contest — it is a vibrant celebration of our traditions, identity, and community spirit. This special event aims to preserve and promote Bhutanese cultural values while bringing our communities together in unity, harmony, and pride.

On this most auspicious Saga Dawa lunar month, Drukpa Australia and Sewla Buddhist Centre came together to observe Buddha’s Parinirvana and the sacred Jamgoen Moenlam Chenmo. The event was presided over by Gyalwa Dokhampa Rinpoche, Jamgoen Rinpoche, and Drukpa Khamtak Rinpochay ༧སྐྱབས་རྗེ་འབྲུག་པ་ཁམས་བྲག་རིན་པོ་ཆེ།།.

Even the challenging weather could not delude the faith and devotion of those who gathered. Truly, blessings rain where hearts are sincere. May the merits of this holy occasion bring peace and awakening to all beings.

Yesterday, Gyalwa Dokhampa Rinpoche graciously bestowed the Dukar (Sitatapatra) and Sengye Tsewa empowerments.

The reason for the Dukar Wang is that there are many Drolma (Tara) practitioners. Dukar, also known as Sitatapatra, is the 19th of the 21 Taras and is renowned for eliminating obstacles, protecting against harms, and pacifying negative forces.

As for the Sengye Tsewa empowerment, this was a long-standing request from Rinpoche's students, and finally, it has been bestowed.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank Rinpoche for these powerful blessings. 🙏

Drukpa Australia in collaboration with Sewla Buddhist Centre is pleased to announce the commemoration of the Lord Buddha’s Parinirvana with the special event, Jamgoen Monlam Chenmo, coordinated by Sewla Buddhist Centre and the community.

This special event will be presided over by Gyalwa Dokhampa Rinpoche, Jamgoen Rinpoche, and HE Drukpa Khamtak Rinpochay ༧སྐྱབས་རྗེ་འབྲུག་པ་ཁམས་བྲག་རིན་པོ་ཆེ།།
