🌴 Update from the Team in the Solomon Islands! 🌴

Day 9 is done, and what a couple of days it’s been!

On Monday, after joining the SWIM Base staff devotion, some of the team visited Plywood, the nearby village where the Compassionate Catalogue has funded a water project. We finalised prep. for an upcoming workshop, while others worked around the Base. In the afternoon, three team members joined a soccer match at the farm prison, while the rest ran Day 3 of our children’s program with around 70 kids.

Today, Tuesday, most of the team were warmly welcomed into Plywood Community Village, where we led a women’s health program. The rest stayed back to help with painting at the Base. This afternoon, 125 kids joined us for the final day of our children’s program as we shared the love of Jesus and His invitation to life with Him. We finished the day with a whole SWIM Base dinner, including staff, and thanksgiving ceremony. ❤️

Tomorrow, we’ll debrief before flying back to Australia, then home to Tasmania on Thursday!

We’ve received far more than we could give. Our hearts are full. God is good! 🙌

🌴 Update from the Team in the Solomon Islands! 🌴

We’ve come to the end of Day 7!

Friday morning, we facilitated a health, nutrition, and agriculture workshop while others on the team did some maintenance on the SWIM Base. Day 2 of the kids’ program saw numbers swell to 80 children enjoying fun, music, and the Gospel story!

Saturday was a more relaxed morning before we visited a couple of island lookouts, wandered through town and the markets, and enjoyed dinner out together.

On Sunday, we shared fellowship at the International Church before leading the service at the farm prison in the afternoon.

We’ve been privileged to bless others while being blessed ourselves. ❤️

🌴 Update from the Team in the Solomon Islands! 🌴

All is well, and we’re coming to the close of Day 4!

Our travel days went smoothly.

The past two days have been filled with wonderful opportunities to serve and share alongside Crossroads. We’ve been involved in prison ministry at both the high-security prison and the farm prison. We’ve had the privilege of visiting Bethesda, a vocational school supporting people with special needs.

We’ve also begun Day 1 of 4 of a Gospel-focused kids’ program. It has been such a joy to spend time with around 50 primary-aged children through singing, sharing, games, and activities.

We’re grateful for every opportunity God has given us so far and for the warm welcome we’ve received. Please continue to pray for our team.

More updates to come! 🙏🌺
