Worry and anxiety are part of being human. The question for us isn’t whether we’ll ever feel overwhelmed, it’s what we do when we are?

David wrote in the Psalms “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3

When we bring our fears to God, and we share our burdens with people we trust, we contribute to a community where it’s safe to turn up, be vulnerable, and carry one another’s burdens. Trusting God with our worry is a lifelong lesson, let’s keep learning how to do this well, together.

The day after the feeding of the 5000 was very telling. Telling of the way people can so easily come to Jesus for what he can offer, rather than seeking him for who he is. The crowds faith hinged on the miracle and not the Man. They were enamoured by the power but missed the person, they loved the provision, but at the expense of the provider. Let’s never mistake the provision for the provider and make sure our knees are bowed before the king and not his kickbacks.

Sometimes the brook (the way God provides) dries up.

The thing God used to provide in one season may not be the thing He uses in the next.

For Elijah at Cherith, the stream was only ever the means of God’s provision. It was never the Provider.

And so easily, we can become attached to the stream; the job, the opportunity, the person, the resource, the plan, and we lose sight of the God who provided it in the first place.

What God provides must be held loosely, because sometimes His provision changes over time.

So don’t interpret a dwindling stream as a distant or disinterested God.

The way God provides may change, but His faithfulness and His plans do not.

🇰🇭 OUR CAMBODIAN PASTORS ARE COMING TO SYDNEY! 🇦🇺

We’re really excited to welcome our Cambodian pastors (Phanet, Srey Pich & Yuth) to Sydney this September.

For around 10 days they’ll be spending time with our Kingsway community, joining our Leadership Retreat, connecting with our staff and elders, hanging out with our youth, visiting Kingsway Care, meeting with Churches of Christ NSW and GMP, and of course experiencing a little bit of Sydney along the way!

There are two opportunities we’d especially love our whole Kingsway community to be part of.

⛪ SUNDAY 13 SEPTEMBER
Our Cambodian pastors will be sharing and preaching across our Kingsway & SeeChange Sunday services. It will be a wonderful opportunity to hear directly from them, their stories, their faith, what God is doing in Cambodia, and some of the hopes and challenges they see for the future.

🍲 MONDAY 14 SEPTEMBER — POTLUCK DINNER | 6.30PM
Then on Monday night we’re having a relaxed community dinner together at Kingsway. Bring a plate to share, meet our pastors personally, hear more of their stories and enjoy an evening of connection.

Kingsway — 9 Resolution Drive, Caringbah @ 6.30pm
Bring a plate to share

Our relationship with Cambodia is about much more than projects or financial support, it’s about people, friendship, partnership and shared mission.

This is a unique chance for our Sydney community to meet the people leading the work on the ground, hear their stories firsthand and deepen the connection between our communities.

Everyone is welcome. Come and be part of it! 🇰🇭❤️🇦🇺

God doesn’t just provide once, He provides daily.

For 40 years in the wilderness, God faithfully gave His people what they needed for each day. Not because they always trusted Him and not because they never complained - they did that a fair bit! He provided because He is faithful, compassionate and generous.

And perhaps that’s the invitation for us too? Daily provision realised through daily dependence on faithful and generous God.

“Give us today our daily bread.”

God knows what we need.
God is faithful to provide.
And day by day, we learn to trust Him.
