Capernwray Australia, a Torchbearer Centre is a bible school and conference/retreat centre.

Our bible school is designed as a short-term Discipleship Bible School for those who want to get to know Jesus in a personal way. Founded in 1972 Capernwray Australia is part of the greater 'Torchbearer' family with another 25 centres globally. We have seen God grow and bless the centre in Australia to the point where we are in ministry all over the country in different capacities and also serving in Missions overseas. With a big vision and a bigger God we are excited to watch the Life of Jesus Christ truely indwell the lives of our students and thus transforming them! Stepping into the future we hope to have a stronger and wider reach into Australian communities, serving in local Churches and reaching others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our students are currently out on Ministry week, serving churches around NSW.

… and we can’t wait to welcome them back on campus on Sunday!

Next week we’re incredibly excited to welcome Rick Bundschuh from Anchor House Kauai who will be teaching on “The Church”. It’s going to be awesome!

Community at Capernwray isn’t pretend or surface level.

There is something that happens at Capernwray that you just cannot recreate online (believe us, we’ve tried).

It happens in real-life
It doesn’t get a filter
It’s there on your good and bad days
It shapes who we become

Studying the Bible in community is by far the best way to grow in your faith - thousands of lives and over 50 years of experience is the evidence.

Study at Capernwray … pick any of the centres … they’re all awesome!!

Staff highlight - Steph Wood 😊
Role - Ministries Co-ordinator

About Steph:
I grew up in a small town in New Zealand, and knew Jesus from a very young age. I always had a desire to go to a Capernwray somewhere, and in 2013, I attended Capernwray New Zealand for a year. After this, I served on staff at Capernwray New Zealand managing the on-site café.

Having joined the Capernwray Australia staff at the beginning of 2019 on the ministries team and as Resident Assistant for the female students, I again have the joy of walking with students as they discover who they are in Christ. It is exciting to be a part of the ministry here, and I love seeing lives being transformed in Christ.
