Formation in Carmel - A Time for Congratulations

As we continue to Ascend the Holy Mountain of Carmel, we grow not only in knowledge but also in wisdom, discernment, and the capacity to seek God in all things. Formation in Carmel is a journey of transformation, where Friars are nurtured in every dimension of life - human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral.

Today, we pause with gratitude and joy to congratulate our Brothers who have successfully attained a degree in Philosophy. This achievement is a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to the pursuit of truth.

May Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, our loving Mother and Sister, and our holy Prophet Elijah, the Father of Carmel, continue to intercede for them. As they climb ever higher up the Mountain, may they draw closer to Christ, the true summit of Carmel, and be strengthened to serve God's people with wisdom, humility, and zeal.

Congratulations, Dear Brothers, on this important milestone in your Carmelite journey.

Documentary in the Making

80 years of Carmelite Friars Presence in Zimbabwe

The presence and apostolic witness of the Carmelite Friars in Zimbabwe continue to leave a deep and grace-filled imprint upon all who encounter their prophetic ministry. Beneath the mantle of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Prophetic zeal of Elijah, many souls have discovered not merely a spirituality, but a holy path of interior transformation - a silent ascent toward Divine intimacy.

In the course of our encounters, we met a deeply devoted woman, Mrs T. Madziva, TOC, whose journey within the Carmelite horizon revealed the gentle yet consuming fire of Carmel. From a unique and humble angle, she began ascending Mount Carmel, allowing the spirit of prayer, contemplation, and surrender to reshape her soul. In a moment both moving and mystical, she laid aside her Gomo Kamero uniform to her Parish Priest, choosing instead to embrace fully her vocation and devotion within the Carmelite Third Order. It was not simply a change of attire, but a profound offering of self - a surrender to the hidden life of Carmel.

May the Spirit of Carmel - born in silence, nourished in prayer, and aflame with prophetic love - continue to live forever.

(80 Years Carmelite Friars Presence in Zimbabwe)

Through the grace of our encounters with many of you, here and there along the journey, for instance, with Dickson Majaha we were privileged to share in a rich and thoughtful conversation with one of the Village Headmen, speaking as a Headman of the land. With clarity and warmth, he reflected on the enduring relationship between the Catholic Church - especially the Carmelite Friars - and the people of Zimbabwe since their arrival. In a particular way, he spoke from his own experience in Denzva, offering a heartfelt witness as Sabhuku Chinamasa of the Moyo Chirandu lineage.

May the Spirit of Carmel continue to take root and flourish in the land of Zimbabwe.
