Jubilant celebration in Carmel
On Saturday, the 1st of August, 2026, Carmel in Zimbabwe was bathed in the light of new ministries as the Most Reverend Robert Christopher Ndhlovu, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Harare ordained our Brothers Syprian Dzihwena O.Carm and Obvious Joseph Mapfumo O.Carm deacons whilst Lloyd Champiruka O.Carm was ordained a priest. It was day of joy, of hope, and of deep gratitude to God for calling forth new servants from among His people. In this Year of Jubilee, 80 years of Carmelite presence in Zimbabwe, we give praise and thanks to God for the precious gift of vocations. We pray that through their service, these brothers will be beacons of God's love, shining brightly in Zimbabwe and beyond. May the mantle of Our Lady of Mt Carmel and the zeal of Elijah inspire these servants to show the face of the living God to all they serve.

Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Celebrations

With hearts full of gratitude to God, we give thanks for the joyful and grace-filled celebration of the Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in both the Harare and Mutare Regions. The celebrations were a beautiful expression of our Carmelite Family united in prayer, fraternity, service and devotion to our Blessed Mother and Sister.

As we continue our pilgrimage of faith, may the Good Lord keep us ever close to Himself, leading us to ascend the Holy Mountain of His presence. Through the loving intercession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, may we remain faithful to our Carmelite vocation, steadfast in prayer, rich in charity, and ever attentive to the gentle voice of God.
