At ZCA we believe that Self-Help Groups(SHGs) are the starting point to women empowerment and innovation. When women come together to be part of SHGs, from the profits they make they develop their small businesses and projects are able to even support their families where they lack.

An empowered woman is an empowered family,an empowered family is an empowered community.

Healthy ecosystems; our forests, wetlands, and rivers are the foundation of our livelihoods
By conserving these natural resources, we protect our long-term human wellbeing and ability to adapt to climate change.

Let us practice environmental stewardship and we take care of our environment.

Monday is the International Day for People of African Descent — a chance to celebrate the extraordinary contributions of the African diaspora around the world.

“We also recall the work still to be done towards ensuring the full enjoyment of human rights, equality and opportunity by people of African descent,” UN Secretary-General António Guterres stressed.

“Let’s re-affirm our collective commitment to dismantling systemic racism and achieving equality, justice and transformative change in the daily lives of people of African descent everywhere.”

Lord,

You are worthy of all our praise, our obedience, and our devotion. Whatever direction You lead us in, may we follow willingly.

Whatever act of kindness or service we can offer to someone in our community, may we do so with joy. And whatever we do this week, whether big or small, may we do it in the name of the Lord, bringing honour to You in all things.

Amen.

Deepening our understanding of major historical events can help foster greater respect and tolerance.

Sunday's International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition is an opportunity to reflect on one of the darkest chapters in human history and learn from it.

Across the globe, people continue to be harassed, attacked and even killed simply for their beliefs.

“Such acts are an assault on human rights and human dignity. They must end now,” said UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Saturday's International Day for Victims of Violence Based on Religion or Belief.

“Whenever one group is persecuted, no group is safe. Today, we honour the victims of violence and commit to building societies where all faiths can live and worship in peace.”

THE ZIMBABWE CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE MOURNS THE PASSING OF MR MBONISI TSHUMA, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF BANTWANA ZIMBABWE

It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that the Zimbabwe Christian Alliance [ZCA] received news of the untimely passing of Mr. Mbonisi Tshuma, Executive Director of Bantwana Zimbabwe, on 20 August 2026.

Mr. Tshuma was not only a valued partner to ZCA, but also a compassionate leader, servant of the people, and champion for children, adolescents, families and communities across Zimbabwe. Through Bantwana Zimbabwe, he walked with us in the mission to serve the most vulnerable and to uphold the dignity of every life.

We are deeply grieved that his life was cut short in a road traffic accident near Kwekwe, while travelling back to Harare from a meeting in Bulawayo. The tragedy is made even more painful as it occurred on the very day Bantwana was celebrating 6 years of impactful work. The fact that he began that day leading staff in gratitude, speaks to the kind of leader he was; humble, joyful, and committed.

On behalf of the ZCA Board, Secretariat, member churches, and all our communities, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife Emelda, his children Lihle and Khaya, the entire Tshuma family, and the Bantwana Zimbabwe family.

We pray that the God of all comfort will strengthen you during this difficult time. *Psalm 34:18* “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Mbonisi’s legacy of integrity, humility, and love for the poor will continue to inspire us. We give thanks to God for his life and service.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. Bantwana Zimbabwe Kindernothilfe E.V.
