Every Wednesday, these women come together and contribute just $1 each. When pooled, that small amount becomes a lifeline for them and their families. It becomes a loan for a mother to buy stock for her tuck shop and capital for another to expand her vegetable stall. These Self Help Groups (SHG) becomE a safety net for a family facing an emergency or a business that needs a boost. Currently, these amazing women are doing incredible work hence the organisation has taken the initiative to establish more groups with these women.NEW groups are being formed. They are opening the door for more women to join, to save together, and to lend to one another. This will help other women realise their dreams.

As part of rights based social accountability, in Gwanda Ntepe, traditional leaders and council members came together to discuss their roles in the community. A key takeaway was the need to clarify responsibilities between the two entities. Traditional leaders emphasised their importance as custodians of their communities, highlighting that all village and ward activities should go through them.
