SUNDAY SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS.

Let your prayers be out of the right motive. God noted that Solomon's request was out of the right motive, not a selfish motive, and he granted his request. He gave him in addition what he didn't ask for.

Many people have wasted precious time in prayer without answers because of wrong motives. Being specific in your prayers is not a guarantee that your prayers will be answered especially when you have a wrong motive. Wrong motives hinder answers to prayers.

James 4:3

"WHATEVER YOU VALUE INTERNALLY DETERMINES YOUR EXTERNAL ACTION"

If you value your relationship with God then everything you do will be done out of a good motive. But if you value the things of this world more than God, your heart will be controlled by external pressures, and everything you do will be out of a selfish motive.

Obedience can be tough, many times it means taking the higher road even when there is an easy way out as an option. Obedience requires sacrifice, discipline, and stretching ourselves outside our comfort zone. Obedience is so important for every Christian, in fact without it we fall short big time.

Actually obedience is the only way in which we can experience the power of the life we have in Christ and thus grow spiritually. Overcomers let Christ rule over them, they don't obey their carnal thinking, for they know that obedience activates God's power.
