A WISDOM THAT WILL NOT DIE.
Some men preach wisdom.
Bishop Don Dabula was wisdom.
For over 60 years in ordained ministry in the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, he did not just lead us, he taught us how to walk. Slowly. Faithfully. Correctly.
He retired from active ministry in 2004, but wisdom never retires. Until his last days, young preachers still travelled to sit at his feet. Because when he spoke, you listened. One sentence from him could straighten a whole year of your life.
During his memorial service, we asked people to describe him in one word. One word came back again and again: DISCIPLINED.
Yes. He was disciplined. But his discipline was not harshness it was love in order. It was holiness made visible. It was a life that said, "If God is worth serving, serve Him properly."
He was the First Bishop of the Clarkebury District. A pioneer. God gave him a District with no footprint, and he gave it a soul. Clarkebury will forever walk in the wisdom of its first father.
And because wisdom plants seeds, his name still serves today through the DD Dabula Mission Fund (Bishop Don Dabula Foundation), formed and kept alive by his spiritual children - the Clarkebury District 1700 Wesley Guild. His wisdom lives in the youth he trusted.
For such a man, the Bible says:
Job 12:12 - "Wisdom is found with the aged, and understanding with length of days."
Proverbs 4:7 - "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom."
Bishop Dabula got wisdom, and then he gave it to us.

You heard our cries, Tata. You led us through the wilderness with a steady hand.
Clarkebury District will never forget you. The Guild you loved will carry your name. Heaven has recorded what we witnessed.
You have run your race. Now rest, Legend. Rest now. Your voice will still guide us. Your wisdom will never leave Clarkebury District🙌🏾
