Call for Peace, Prayer and Respect for the Rule of Law
Considering the current tensions in South Africa surrounding migration-related issues, we acknowledge the frustration and concerns expressed by many people across our country. We are also aware that certain groups and individuals may seek to exploit this situation to advance their own agendas.
We therefore call on all our members to refrain from any illegal activities and, in particular, to reject any involvement in the destruction of property, acts of intimidation, or threats to the lives and safety of any person.
At this critical time, we urge all our assemblies and members to intentionally set aside the period from Sunday, 28 June to Tuesday, 30 June 2026 for prayer.
Let us pray for peace, calm, unity, and the upholding of the rule of law throughout South Africa. We believe that constructive engagement, mutual respect, and prayerful action are essential in promoting stability and safeguarding the wellbeing of all who live in our country.
Yours in Christ
