WORD OF GOD BY APOSTLE ANGEL

TOPIC: SERVING THE LORD EVEN THOUGH…..

Scripture References: Habakkuk 3:17-19, Job 1:18-20, Job 2:9-10

The prophet Habakkuk tells us that despite the fig tree not blossoming, nor fruit being on the vines, the labor of the olive failing, and the fields yielding no food, the flock being cut off from the fold, and no herd being in the stalls, we will still rejoice in the Lord and find joy in the God of our salvation.

This teaching emphasizes serving God unconditionally, regardless of our circumstances. Some individuals serve God only when their circumstances are favorable. However, we must be determined to continue serving God, even in the face of unanswered prayers.

The biblical account of Job illustrates a man who was righteous and blessed with wealth, yet maintained his devotion to God even when everything was taken away. Job's understanding that he came into this world with nothing and would depart with nothing enabled him to continue serving God truthfully.

The challenges we face are designed by the enemy to divert our devotion from God. Like Job, instead of cursing God, we should respond with worship, acknowledging that our possessions and circumstances are temporary.

Job's wife suggested that he curse God and give up/die, implying that our relationship with God is often tied to our prosperity. However, we must learn to trust God beyond our possessions and not worship them. Trusting God means relying on Him even when our situations seem uncertain.

God is aware of our struggles, sicknesses, and burdens, and He will deliver us. Our relationship with God should not be strengthened by our possessions but by our faith in Him.

The example of Paul and Silas, who worshipped God in prison, demonstrates that our role is to serve God faithfully, regardless of circumstances, while God plays His role in our lives. Standing firm in faith, even in adversity, is crucial because God is the God of impossibilities and does not change.

Joseph, Abraham, and Daniel faced trials but remained faithful. Despite being thrown into challenging situations, those who fix their eyes on God will emerge victorious. We must continue to serve God unconditionally, trusting in His goodness and faithfulness.

Scripture references: Jeremiah 1 verse 1-10
: Jeremiah 20 verse 7-9

Jeremiah came from a family of priests and as young as he was God called him. When Jeremiah was called by God he became afraid and refused because he was still young. God called Jeremiah as young as he was because he had a purpose about his life. God does not call the qualified but he calls the dedicated. When he called Jeremiah, he told him that he must not be afraid because He will put His words into his mouth.

As children of God, we must know the purpose of God about our lives in the church.
Each of us has a gift that we must use in the house of God. We must not hide behind our family background when it comes to serving in the house of God. The bible says that the harvest is plenty but the labourers are few.

Most of us hide behind our weaknesses when it comes to serving in the house of God. We all have gifts that we can use in the house of God and he has a purpose about those gifts. Our educational backgrounds must not hinder us from working for God.You might be the one who is called to be the light of your family.

Do what God has called you to do. He told Jeremiah to go and demolish, uproot and destroy. Before going to the people we must first demolish and uproot certain lifestyles and behaviours so that we can be acceptable to the people we are sent to.

God is sending you to your family to demolish what your family has built a long time ago but because the beliefs of people are hard to change we must use the word of God. Israel was worshipping idols but God told Gideon to demolish the alter of Baal built by his father because God cannot share glory with idols.

God says go and speak the word of God because it’s only the word of God that can uproot bad behavior. He said demolish, uproot and destroy so that there will be no trace of their existence.
God is sending you to overthrow the kingdom of darkness as he sent Jeremiah to overthrow idol worship in Israel.
Finding your purpose at church will fuel you to pray more. Before God can work in our lives we must demolish, uproot and overthrow our weaknesses and bad behaviour.The bible says that the word of God is like a hammer, it breaks and demolish.

He continues saying that the purpose of God about our lives can bring pain and shame into our lives but God will bring fire inside of your heart if you give up. Discover the purpose of God about your life. Start serving in the house of God. He will surely do something good in your life.

God told Jeremiah to tell people of Israel that He loves them and that they must repent and turn away from worshipping idols because he has good plans about their lives.The bible says in Jeremiah 29 that his plans about us is to prosper us.

He concludes by saying that as Christians we use our gifts to bring people to God. we must discover the purpose of God about our lives.

Topic: Know the purpose of God about your life Part 2.

Apostle Angel begins his sermon by saying "don't live your life not knowing God's purpose about your life". Joseph lived knowing that there is a position God had set for him to serve in.
God spoke to Joseph through dreams. God says "I speak to people through dreams but they don't hear me", but Joseph heard God.

Joseph was loved by his father above all his brothers and it caused enmity between him and his brothers. Even his dreams made his brothers to hate him.

Us children of God are the beloved of God. God loves us so much. That's why the devil hates us so much. Whatever you ask from God know that you are inviting enmity from the devil. He will hate you.

There is no way you can receive blessings from God and not receive attacks from the enemy. So God checks if you are ready to face the attacks that will come because of the jealousy of the devil.

What is lovely about Joseph is that he knew God's purpose for his life. Whatever you are asking God for, let it be in line with God's purpose for your life.

When Jesus started following God's purpose for His life, he was only 12 years old and Joseph was only 17.

When Joseph looked at his dream, he realized that it had a great meaning. It was aligned to who he was. To show that his dream had meaning, his brothers began to be angry and said "shall you reign over us or have dominion over us".

On the second dream Jacob realised that the sun represented him, the moon was his wife and the 11 stars were Joseph's brothers. It troubled them that Joseph was the youngest but they were to bow for him.

Mary kept what Jesus said in her heart, Jacob kept what Joseph said about his dream in his heart because they knew that it would be important in the future.

Joseph suffered because of his dreams. His brothers planned to kill him in order to destroy his dream. The good things God has placed in you attracts enemies. But not everyone is your enemy because Reuben thought of how he can save Joseph.

Don't be discouraged in doing what is in line with your purpose. Joseph endured hatred, Temptation and imprisonment but continued working in line with his purpose.

He continues by saying that each and everyone of us has a purpose in the church, so we must not let people discourage us from persuing our purpose.

There will be seasons that will discourage us from persuing the purpose of God in our life.
He gave an example of a tree. he says that ‘’during winter seasons trees lose their leaves not because they have died but they just go through a season’’.

He says that we must trust in God because he will surely fulfil our Dreams just as he did for Joseph.
