1 Peter 2:6-8 — The Glory of the Chief Cornerstone
Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
”Behold, I lay in Zion_
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”
Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
”The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”
and “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.”
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

”Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone”: If we are being built into a spiritual house, there is no doubt who our Chief Cornerstone is. Even though men rejected Jesus, He has become the Chief Cornerstone in the work of building the church.
_”Is Jesus precious to your soul? Remember, on your answer to this question depends your condition. You believe, if he is precious to you, but if he is not precious, then you are not believers, and you are condemned already because you believe not on the Son of God.”_ — Spurgeon

”The honour is to you who believe”: i.e. the honour of being in this building, and of having your souls saved through the blood of the Lamb, and becoming sons and daughters of God Almighty.
