Youth Day – South Africa
GOD CAN USE THIS GENERATION
“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
— 1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV)
Today South Africa observes Youth Day.
We remember the courageous young people of 16 June 1976 who stood up against injustice and paid a great price for the freedoms many enjoy today.
Their sacrifice reminds us that young people are not merely the leaders of tomorrow—they are a powerful force today.
As we honour their memory, we also pray that God will raise up a new generation of young men and women who will stand for truth, righteousness, integrity, and the Kingdom of God.
Throughout Scripture, God consistently used young people to accomplish extraordinary things.
David was a youth when he faced Goliath.
Joseph was a young man when God gave him dreams.m
Jeremiah was young when God called him to be a prophet.
Timothy was a young leader trusted by the Apostle Paul.
The lesson is clear:
God does not look at age first. God looks at the heart.
Never underestimate what God can do through a surrendered young person.
Think About This
One young shepherd defeated a giant.
One young prisoner became a prime minister.
One young girl named Mary carried the Saviour of the world.
One generation can change a nation.
A Prayer For Our Youth
Today we pray for the young people of South Africa.
May God protect them from violence, drugs, crime, hopelessness, and destructive influences.
May He raise up leaders, entrepreneurs, pastors, missionaries, teachers, and nation-builders.
May this generation discover their identity in Christ and their purpose in God.
What God Can Do
God can save a generation.
God can heal a nation.
God can restore broken dreams.
God can raise young leaders.
God can use today’s youth to bring revival tomorrow.
Declare
I thank God for the youth of South Africa.
I believe God is raising a generation of purpose.
I will encourage and invest in young people.
I will pray for the next generation.
God can use this generation for His glory.m
Prayer
Father, today we thank You for the young people of South Africa.
We remember the courage and sacrifice of the youth of 1976.
Bless our young people with wisdom, courage, vision, and purpose.
Protect them from every plan of the enemy.
Raise up a generation that loves God, serves others, and impacts the world for Your Kingdom.
May revival begin in the hearts of our youth.

Closing Thought
The youth of 1976 changed the course of a nation.
The youth of today can change the future of a generation.
Never underestimate what God can do through a young person who is fully surrendered to Him.
