WEDNESDAY: BIBLICAL FAITH

Devotion | Discipleship | Diversity

Scripture:

Hebrews 11:1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Devotion:

Faith and hope are related, but they are not the same.

Hope looks forward.

Faith lays hold of God’s promise now.

The writer of Hebrews tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

Faith does not deny reality. It simply believes that God’s promises are more certain than our circumstances.

The doctor may give a difficult report.

The economy may be uncertain.

The future may appear unclear.

Yet faith says, “My confidence is not in what I see, but in the God who sees the end from the beginning.”

This is how the obedient Christian life remains in motion. We keep moving forward because Christ is the Hub, and faith keeps us connected to His promises.

We may not see the answer today, but we trust the One who holds tomorrow.

Prayer:

Gracious Father, thank You for Your promises.

When circumstances seem overwhelming, help us to keep our eyes fixed upon Christ.

Strengthen our faith so that we may trust You even when we cannot see the outcome.

Teach us to live by Your Word and not merely by what is visible around us.

May our confidence rest in Your faithfulness.

Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.

MONDAY: BIBLICAL FAITH

Devotion | Discipleship | Diversity

Scripture:

Hebrews 6:1

“Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.”

Devotion:

Every building stands or falls on its foundation.

A beautiful house may have expensive finishes, modern fittings, and impressive architecture. But if the foundation is weak, the entire structure is in danger.

The Christian life is no different.

Last week we reflected on repentance, the first message. Today we begin to consider faith toward God, another foundational truth of the Christian faith.

Many believers want spiritual maturity without spiritual foundations. They desire the fruit without the roots. Yet Scripture reminds us that repentance and faith are foundational doctrines upon which the Christian life is built.

The Obedient Christian Life in Action begins with a solid foundation. Faith is not an optional extra; it is part of the very structure of our relationship with God.

As Christ remains the Hub of our lives, faith keeps us connected to Him, trusting Him, and depending upon Him daily.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us a firm foundation in Christ.

Help us not to neglect the elementary truths of the faith. Deepen our understanding of repentance and faith, and establish us firmly in Your Word.

Protect us from false teaching and from being carried about by every wind of doctrine.

Build us into mature disciples who trust You wholeheartedly.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.

THURSDAY: REPENTANCE

Devotion | Discipleship | Diversity

Scripture:

Luke 3:8

“Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.”

Devotion:

When we visited the Macadamia farm in Mpumalanga, I learned something important.

A Macadamia tree takes years before producing fruit. For a long time, the real work happens beneath the surface.

Roots first.
Fruit later.

The same is true spiritually.

We often want instant growth, instant maturity, instant holiness. But God develops deep roots before visible fruit.

Private prayer.
Quiet obedience.
Hidden faithfulness.
Daily repentance.

These are the roots of the Christian life.

And in due season, fruit appears.

Prayer:

Father, thank You that You are patient with us as You shape and mature us spiritually. Help us not to despise the slow work of sanctification.

Deepen our roots in Your Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with Christ.

Today we thank You for Your faithfulness and mercy toward our brother Les. We are grateful that his surgery was successful and that You have safely brought him through the procedure.

Lord, we now commit his recovery into Your loving hands. Strengthen his body day by day. Protect him from complications, infection, pain, and setbacks. Grant him restful sleep, renewed strength, and complete healing according to Your will.

We also pray for the medical team caring for him during this recovery period. Give them wisdom and compassion as they continue to support him.

May Your healing power be evident in his life, and may this testimony bring glory to Your name. Encourage his family and loved ones, and fill their hearts with peace and confidence in Your goodness.

Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Stay blessed CCQ family 🙏🏻

WEDNESDAY | REPENTANCE

Devotion | Discipleship | Diversity

Scripture:

Matthew 3:2

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Devotion:

It is interesting that the first message of John the Baptist was repentance.

The first message of Jesus Christ was repentance.

The first message preached by the apostles was repentance.

Before church growth, before conferences, before ministry platforms and popularity, the first message was repentance.

Why?

Because repentance restores broken fellowship with God.

Modern Christianity often celebrates charisma, influence, and appearance, but the Kingdom of God begins with humility and repentance.

The obedient Christian life in action is not merely movement and activity; it is a life continually turning back toward God.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for the Gospel that calls us to repentance and new life. Keep us from shallow Christianity that focuses on appearance while neglecting the heart.

May we become a church deeply rooted in Christ, faithful to scripture, humble in spirit, and obedient in our walk.

Today we pray again for our brother Les. Lord, prepare the way before him tomorrow. Let Your healing grace surround every procedure, every decision, and every moment of surgery.

May he know that Christ is near even in the operating room.

In Jesus’ mighty name,
Amen.
