PRAISE GOES FIRST
Memory Verse:
“Joshua died. Then the people of Israel prayed to the Lord. They said, ‘Who will be the first to go and fight for us against the Canaanite people?’ The Lord said to them, ‘The tribe of Judah will go…’” — Judges 1:1–2 (ICB)
Story:
Hi, champions! Have you ever had a day when everything felt difficult—a tough school assignment, or something important that made you nervous?
Israel faced a big battle and needed God’s help. Before they fought, they asked God, “Who should go first?” He answered, “Judah.” Here is the wonderful part: the name Judah means praise. God was teaching them something deep—praise should go first. When trouble comes, it is easy to worry or complain. But God wants us to praise Him first. Praise reminds us how great He is, how much He loves us, and that He is able and willing to help us. Praise turns fear into faith and fills us with courage. The enemy tries to steal your praise because praising God brings His peace and power into your situation. Remember: when praise goes first, God goes before you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for always being with me. Help me to praise You in every situation, even when things are difficult. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Prophetic Fun Corner:
“Praise A to Z”
Go around naming something to praise God for, starting with A, then B, then C. How far through the alphabet can you and your friends get?
