Reccsa REFORMED ETHIOPIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH OF SOUTHERN AFRICA Consistent with this, it identifies as characteristic of the “Anglican Way” and essential for membership.

In her Fundamental Declarations, the RECCSA declares herself part of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, confessing Jesus Christ to be the only way to God the Father. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, containing all things necessary for salvation, and is the final authority and unchangeable standard for Christian faith and life.Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are sacraments ordained

by Christ and are to be ministered with unfailing use of His words of institution and the elements ordained by Him.The historic episcopate is an inherent part of the apostolic faith and practice, and therefore integral fullness and unity of the Body of Christ. The Church affirms the historic faith of the undivided church as declared in the three ecumenical (Catholic) creeds: Apostles’, the Nicene, and the Athanasian.Concerning the seven Councils of the undivided church, it affirms the teaching of the first four Ecumenical Councils and the Christological clarifications of the fifth, sixth and the seventh councils, in so far as they agreeable to the Bible. The Book of Common Prayer as set forth by the Church of England in 1662, together with the ordinal attached to it, is a standard for the Anglican tradition of worship. The Thirty Nine Articles of Religion, taken in their literal and grammatical sense, express fundamental principles of authentic Anglican belief. The RECCSA has Anglo-Catholic, evangelical members and is concerned to be more theological conservative. The Church does not allow Dioceses to ordain women as priests nor permit them to become Bishops.Concerning marriage, it holds that it is between one man and one woman; it opposes same s*x unions.

Celebrating Milestones in the Life of RECCSA

This past Monday, October 20th, marked a significant milestone in the life of the Reformed Ethiopian Catholic Church of Southern Africa (RECCSA). We celebrated 7 incredible years since my consecration as the first Bishop of RECCSA, a momentous occasion that took place on October 20th, 2018.

As we celebrated this anniversary, we also commemorated another remarkable milestone - 6 years since my elevation and enthronement as the first Archbishop of RECCSA, which occurred on October 20th, 2019.

These anniversaries are a testament to God's faithfulness and the dedication of our community. Over the years, we've witnessed the Lord's hand guiding us, providing for us, and strengthening us. We've seen His glory manifest in our midst, and we've been blessed with the opportunity to serve Him and share His love with others.

As we reflect on these milestones, let's renew our commitment to the mission of RECCSA and to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all corners of our communities and beyond. May God continue to bless our church and guide us as we strive to fulfill His purpose for us.

A Statement from the Reformed Ethiopian Catholic Church of Southern Africa (RECCSA)

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

It is with a heavy heart that we extend our deepest condolences to the Roman Catholic Church and the global community upon the passing of His Holiness, Pope Francis. May his legacy of love, compassion, and service inspire us all.

As the College of Cardinals gathers to elect the 267th Pope, we pray that the Holy Spirit guides their deliberations and decision-making process. May the newly elected Pope be endowed with divine wisdom, strength, and guidance in their ministry, and may their leadership foster unity, growth, and spiritual renewal within the global Catholic community.

We acknowledge the significant role the Papacy plays in shaping the spiritual direction of millions worldwide. We pray that the new Pope will be a beacon of hope, love, and peace, guiding the faithful and reaching out to those in need.

May God bless the process and the future of the Roman Catholic Church. May the sacred rituals and traditions of the conclave be illuminated by the light of the Holy Spirit, leading to a decision that will benefit the entire Body of Christ.

Sincerely,
Archbishop Banele Mente
On behalf of the Reformed Ethiopian Catholic Church of Southern Africa (RECCSA)
