We often pray for instant change, but overlook the simple obedience already in front of us.

At Cana, the miracle didn’t start with wine—it started with filling empty jars with water. Ordinary. Repetitive. Unseen.

And yet, that’s where Jesus chose to move.

Sometimes God doesn’t remove the process—He meets us in it, and turns what is ordinary into something far greater than we expected. 🤍🙏🏻

At 4pm SAST...

On Friday 11 September, Coventry Cathedral will mark the 25th anniversary of the attacks of 9/11 with a short vigil of prayer and reflection in the Cathedral Ruins at 3.00pm. The time coincides with 10.00am in New York, the moment when many gather to remember those who lost their lives and the events that changed our world.

As a place dedicated to reconciliation and peace, Coventry Cathedral invites people from across the Diocese and wider community to join us as we remember the victims of terrorism and violence, pray for healing and peace among nations, and recommit ourselves to building a more just and compassionate world.

The vigil will last approximately 30 minutes and all are welcome.

In the church, there is no such thing as a big ministry or a small ministry.

We often measure importance by how many people see us, but God looks at something much deeper. He looks at faithfulness.

Think about the person standing on the platform preaching, and the person quietly arranging the chairs before everyone arrives. Think about the one leading worship, and the one praying quietly in the background. Think about the ministry that everyone notices, and the faithful service that almost no one sees.

Does one matter more than the other? Not to God.

Every act of service has value when it is done for Him.

Ministry was never meant to be about getting attention or receiving recognition. It is about being willing to say yes when God gives you something to do.

Sometimes your service may receive applause. Sometimes nobody may even notice.

But God notices.

Hebrews 6:10 reminds us, “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”

That means the prayers nobody heard, the tasks nobody thanked you for, the sacrifices nobody knew about, and the moments when you kept serving even when you felt tired are not forgotten by God.

Nothing done for Him is wasted.

So serve with joy.
Serve with humility.
Serve without needing to be seen.

And when you wonder if your work really matters, remember that heaven sees what people may overlook.

First Corinthians 15:58 says, “Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

In God’s Kingdom, faithfulness will always matter more than fame.

🙏🏽 YOUTH MONTH | WEEK TWO: PRAYER FOR EMPLOYMENT 🙏🏽

Waiting for work can feel heavy, but remember: God sees you, He knows what you need, and He is still working even when you cannot see it.

This week, let’s come together in prayer for open doors, divine connections, favour with employers, wisdom in our applications and interviews, and the right opportunities in God’s perfect timing. 🙏🏽✨

📖 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…” — Colossians 3:23

As we pray, let’s also take action: prepare, apply, network, trust and never give up. Your waiting season is not a wasted season. God is preparing the way. 🙌🏽
