WHAT WISDOM DOES IN THE CHURCH:
1. Wisdom is the foundation of every great work – Proverbs 3:19
- God releases wisdom to His people before He builds anything.
- Many visions/goals collapse because we build on excitement, not wisdom.
- Serve faithfully and build even when no one is watching or applauding.
She also said we must not only build excellent things, but become excellent people. God isn’t pleased when we build great things with bad character and impure hearts. Check your character first. Building excellent things with bad character means we’re building for ourselves, not for God’s Kingdom.
2. Wisdom helps us build in unity – Psalm 133:1
- One of the greatest signs of wisdom is unity.
- “Where two or more are gathered in My name, I am there” – where there’s unity, God is present, and He is wisdom.
- 1 Corinthians 1:24: The more united we are, the closer we get to God, and the wiser our decisions.
- The enemy can’t stop a united church, so he attacks with gossip, offense, jealousy, pride, and misunderstanding. A divided church cannot stand.
- A united church forgives quickly, respects one another, and values teamwork – that’s what wisdom teaches.
3. Wisdom builds for future generations
- Fools think only of today; the wise think of tomorrow.
- The church we build today is for our children and those who haven’t yet met Christ.
- If you destroy and cause division today, your children may have no place of fellowship tomorrow and may miss knowing Christ. When you should’ve been building, you were busy destroying.
HOW DO WE OBTAIN WISDOM?
1. Proverbs 9:10 – Fear the Lord
2. James 1:5 – Ask God for it
3. Psalm 119:105 – Study the Word of God
4. Proverbs 2:1-5 – Wisdom grows through obedience, so obey what God says
