Lessons I Have Learnt in the Healing Ministry
Secondary to my undying love and passion for teaching God’s Word, I love operating in the healing grace. One of the ministries I have laboured in over the years, by God’s grace, is the healing ministry.
When I see sick people, I am moved with compassion, but I also get excited because the Spirit of the Lord is upon me. I am anointed to heal.
A few lessons I have learnt over the years in the healing ministry:
1. The desire of Jesus to heal is stronger than the enemy’s reality of affliction.
2. The ministry of healing derives its power and authority from the finished work of the cross.
3. Many people ask God to heal the sick, while Jesus said they should heal the sick.
This is like asking your boss at work to do what he hired you to do. The instruction is: “Heal the sick.”
I learnt this from Apostle Makwara years ago.
4. The healing ministry operates on authority.
Authority over infirmity and illnesses. Study how authority is received and how it is kept.
Lastly, you can have authority, but have limiting ways of dispensing it.
If your hope is to have a global healing ministry, you will want to exercise using words to release healing power.
It is limiting to only be able to release God’s healing power by the laying on of hands. As good as that is, it is limiting.
Imagine ministering to a crowd of 3,000 people and having to lay hands on all of them.
The key is: “Use it until it works.”
The anointing can be dispensed from you, but when you stay long enough with God, the anointing becomes an atmosphere.
I argue that the atmosphere of the anointing can achieve more than the anointing on the vessel alone.
