TOPIC: DESTINY DEMANDS A MARRIAGE OF AGREEMENT

Amos 3:3; Matthew 18:19

Marriage is not just about sharing a house; it is about sharing a destiny. Scripture asks, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3). Jesus also affirmed, “If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 18:19). Agreement is the backbone of destiny fulfillment in marriage. Where there is agreement in the Spirit, strength multiplies. Where there is discord, destiny is delayed or derailed.

Agreement in marriage is not about trivial things like favorite meals or hobbies; it is about alignment in purpose, values, and obedience to God. If a man is pursuing ministry but his wife despises it, frustration is inevitable. If a woman is consecrated but her husband resists the things of God, her fire will eventually be quenched. Agreement is spiritual, not sentimental. It is standing side by side, facing the same direction, and pulling in the same Spirit. The devil knows this power, which is why he works to plant seeds of disagreement in homes. Once agreement is lost, prayers are hindered, and destinies are crippled.

Practically, don’t ignore spiritual agreement when making marital choices. Sisters, ask plainly: “Does this man’s spirit align with mine in pursuing God’s purpose?” Brothers, ask: “Will this woman walk with me in obedience or fight against the call of God in my life?” If the answer is no, then don’t proceed. For those already married, fight for agreement. Pray together until your spirits align. Refuse to allow bitterness, pride, or distractions to weaken your unity. Destiny demands agreement; without it, your marriage becomes a burden instead of a blessing.

THOUGHT TO PONDER: Is my marriage or relationship marked by spiritual agreement or silent discord? Am I intentionally cultivating unity of purpose with my partner?

PRAYER: Lord, give me a marriage of true agreement that multiplies strength and accelerates destiny.

*TOPIC: WHAT YOUR THANKSGIVING REVEALS (1)*

Philippians 1:3, 1 Chronicles 17:16–27

*Your thanksgiving indicates what you are becoming. If you do not think, you will not thank; thanksgiving comes from memory and reflection.* Paul declared, _"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,"_ showing us that Spirit-led thinking generates Spirit-led thanking (Phil. 1:3, KJV). David sat down before the Lord and enumerated God's mercies one by one (1 Chr. 17:16–27). I want to see you develop that kind of richness. When you look back on what you have done, and who you did it with, thanksgiving becomes substance, substance, and reality. *Shallow minds do not thank because they never stay long enough to discern grace clearly.*

*Thanksgiving also indicates that you are not self-centred. A thankful man focuses on others by giving; a self-centred man puts himself into the centre of every narrative.* Gratitude decentres the self and re-centres God and people He used. Furthermore, not thanking is robbery. *If you get an act of grace and do not express gratitude, you have stolen something even more precious than money — the dignity properly belonging to the giver.* Thanksgiving is not simply etiquette; it is righteousness at work in relationships.

*Another last-days attack of the devil is to eliminate "thank you" from our dictionary.* Few children learn to speak it, and few adults have the time to mean it. Thanksgiving makes you human; it keeps your conscience soft toward God and man. If you get through a lengthy period without thanking anybody, your soul becomes numb. Resist that hardness. *Practice seeing the goodness of God in "little" things* — a safe trip, a good phone call, a door that closed for your protection. Keep track of answers to prayer. Give immediate thanks to those who prayed your hands up. *The more you think, the more you will thank; the more you thank, the more complete you are.*

_*THOUGHT TO PONDER: Whose kindness have I treated as ordinary — and how will I return today to say a thoughtful “thank you”? What habits will keep my heart reflective, so gratitude remains my lifestyle?*_

_*PRAYER:* Lord, deliver me from ingratitude. Keep me thoughtful, others-aware, and quick to return with thanks to You and to those You used. Make gratitude my habit, in Jesus’ name. Amen._

TOPIC: YOUR WORDS DETERMINE YOUR OUTCOME

Judges 16:28-30; Matthew 12:36; Matthew 15:11; James 3:6 (AMP)

Samson said, “O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes! …let me die with the Philistines (Judges 16:28-30, NKJV)”. The enemy deserves to die, but you don’t need to die. It was Samson’s mouth that ensnared him. The words you speak are not ordinary as they affect your future and experiences. In James 3:6, we see that, “…the tongue is a fire…”. Your tongue is the real fire, it is combustible! Every time you speak, your words set something on fire. It is your responsibility to determine if it is the right kind of fire or the wrong one that your words produce.

“…A world of iniquity…” (Jam. 3:6) – this is the unsanctified tongue. God wants your tongue to be sanctified, and it is the Word of God that sanctifies the tongue. You must come to a place where what you are consistently speaking is in alignment with what God has said.

There is a cyclical law that God set in motion when he created man. Every woman has a cycle of life every 28 days, referred to as a menstrual cycle. Different cells in the body have different cycles of renewal. A disruption of the cycle results in sickness and disease. James 3:6 (AMP) goes on to say, “…and sets on fire the course of our life [the cycle of man’s existence]…”. A curse (which is made up of words) affects the cycle of life for evil. It could be ancestral, racial, gender or age-related. Your sanctified mouth is the only weapon that will set you free from such cycles.

PRAYER: Father, deliver me from the deceitful tongue. Help me by Your Spirit to fill my heart with Your Word and to speak and act accordingly in Jesus’ name. Amen!

TOPIC: THE POWER OF WORDS (2)

James 3:1-2

James 3:1-2
1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

We established last week that the word “perfect” does not mean “without fault”. Rather, it means mature, experienced, and mastering the life process. So, that verse says, “…the same is a mature man, a master, and able (that is, has the ability also) to bridle the whole body”. Now, the word “bridle” means to bring under control by force. The word “bridle” is the headgear used to control a horse, consisting of buckled straps to which a bit and reins are attached. You can see the power of words right from this passage. If a man stumbles not in words, the same is a mature man, a great and experienced man.

If you don’t master the use of your mouth, you will not progress in life. You should not get married until you master the use of your mouth because you are going to kill your children. Without the mastery of your mouth, you are susceptible to danger as you advance in life. Your words give order in the spirit realm. The spouse who says to his/her partner, “One day, God will deliver me from you one day” will fall victim to the devil one day.

Allow people that know the truth to correct your mouth until you master it. The fact that you are an adult in physical life does not mean you are an adult in confession life. Most people do not practise confession well because they are acting from their memory. Take practical steps to apply your words correctly by using the Bible. Have a book of confession and confess the Word constantly, actually, and verbally.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the ability and grace to bridle my tongue. I will no longer use it against my life and destiny in Jesus’ name. Amen!

TOPIC: THE POWER OF WORDS (1)

James 3:1-2

James 3:2
2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

The word “offend” in the verse above is an old English word for “stumble”. American Standard Version (ASV) of the Bible puts it this way: “For in many things we all stumble (Jam. 3:2, ASV).” It is not talking about offending people like doing something wrong. If a man stumbles not in words, the same is a perfect man. The word “perfect” is not “without fault” but simply means being mature, experienced, and mastering the life process. You are not a human being trying to experience something spiritual. You are a spirit being trying to master the human experience. Dominate it and bring glory to God.

Dreams are in the realm of imagination. If you have a bad dream, don’t repeat it. I tell people to write down their dreams and not vocalise them. A bad dream is not yet alive as long as you have not vocalised it.

Don’t be a victim of the wrong use of words. Keep your mouth in the direction of a positive outcome. Don’t ever catch yourself speaking against your prayers or work because whatever you get from God will work. Keep working at it and keep your mouth in the direction of success. Once you change the direction of your mouth, your life too will change in that direction.

If you have ever placed an online order before, you will realise that whatever you placed an order for will be delivered eventually. However, there is a provision to return or cancel your order. You need to cancel some negative orders that you have been making with your mouth since you were young. Identify those negative orders and cancel them with your mouth, otherwise, they will show up one day if you keep saying them.

PRAYER: Dear Father, I receive the grace and help to develop the discipline to use my mouth correctly in every situation I find myself in Jesus’ name. Amen!
