"One thing I ask from the Lord... that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life." Psalm 27:4 (NIV)

Our greatest desire should be the presence of God. Since the Garden of Eden, God's heart has been to walk in relationship with His people.
In Genesis, we read that God walked with Adam in the garden. The New Testament reveals that through Jesus, we have become temples of the Holy Spirit. He lives within us, and we are carriers of God's presence.
The truth is that God cannot be any closer to us than He already is. The challenge is not His presence with us, but our awareness of His presence. We need to become present to His presence.
Today, let us slow down, turn our hearts toward Him, and cultivate an awareness that He is with us in every moment.
Let us pray:
Holy Spirit, awaken in me a deeper hunger for the presence of Jesus. Help me to recognize and respond to Your presence throughout my day. Open my eyes to see You at work and my heart to enjoy fellowship with You. Amen.
God bless,
Johan

Greetings in the name of Jesus.📖✝️

David wrote a lot of psalms of joy, worship and celebration.

Psalm 56 isn’t one of them.

This is one that gets written in the midst of hard times. In the midst of the battle. In the midst of the attack.

A little more than halfway through, David writes seven words that change everything:

“This I know: God is for me.”

🤔😳 The battle didn’t immediately stop. The hard times didn’t magically disappear.

🙏🏼🔥🙌🏼 And yet, it’s precisely in the hard times that we need to remember that God is for us.

Whatever challenge you are facing today – in a relationship, at work, in your church, or even within your own mind – remember this:

God is for you!❤

Shalom

Grace and peace to you from Abba, our Father and Jesus Christ.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33 NIV)

Many of us struggle during seasons of waiting. We ask God for direction, provision, breakthroughs, and even healing, but silence seems to be the only response. In these moments, it is easy to feel discouraged and filled with doubt. To seek God and His kingdom first means that we must continue to trust Him, even when we do not understand His timing.

Faith is not only believing when miracles come quickly; it is also remaining steadfast during times when our Father seems silent. While we are waiting for God to move in the world around us, He is often working quietly within us by building patience, strengthening our character, and teaching us deeper dependence on Him.

God knows your heart, and He knows what you are facing. Keep praying, keep trusting in Him, and keep seeking Him first. His timing is perfect, and His plans for you are always good.

Be wise - be safe in Christ.
Shalom
Johan.

Dear Friends in Christ. ❤️

RIVERS OF LIVING WATER.
" Let anyone who is thirsty come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, RIVERS OF LIVING WATER will flow from within them." John 7:37+38 (own emphasis)

It was the Festival of Tabernacles in Jerusalem and Jesus attended this festival. The Jewish ritual during the festival, was to draw and pour water from the pool of Siloam in commemoration of the water, provided to the Israelites, by God, in the wilderness.

On the last and most important day of the Festival, Jesus stood up and cried out, inviting the people to come to Him and believe in Him so that RIVERS OF LIVING WATER, would flow from within them....here He referred to people who would receive the Holy Spirit, if they'd believe in Him.

Not only would their own thirst be quenched, but they would also be able to pass this living water on....

From their saved/regenerated hearts, their TONGUES, under the control of the Holy Spirit, would be able to speak this living spiritual water/ the Word.

Has your heart been given to Jesus Christ, so that the Holy Spirit has control over your TONGUE? So that you can pass this life- giving, spiritual water (the gospel), on to others who are spiritually thirsty and about to perish. Can the Holy Spirit flow through you, so that you are a source of spiritual strength, blessing and life to others?

Do you speak death or life?

" Death and life are in the power of the TONGUE, and those who love it will eat its fruit" Prov. 18:21 (own emphasis)

Be wise - be safe in Christ.
Shalom
Johan.

Monday 1st June 2026.
The Kingdom of God is at hand

Be Wise.
Proverbs 1:7: The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence];
But arrogant fools despise [skilful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline. {Amplified Bible}

"Kingdom living", is not a fearful dread, of the Lord. It’s a loving reverence, a heart submitted to God in a lifestyle of "With-God" Living. A practical, Holy Spirit-led ability to manage everyday relationships and decisions we have to make.
Three things standout here.
1} The Fear of the Lord is Intimacy and Awe: recognizing God as our Abba, Father being aware of His presence and responding with humility and adoration rather than sheer terror.

2} Reverencing God is the key that unlocks divine knowledge. It requires stopping to "press pause" on your own ego and acknowledging that God's way of living is the absolute best.

3} An arrogant fool, is not just someone that’s uneducated; it is someone who operates independently of God. Foolishly relying solely on your own intellect and desires, will lead to a chaotic and destructive life.

So, let’s live it out, approach God daily with a "teachable spirit". Cultivate a healthy respect for God’s holiness and love, position yourself to receive His grace, experience the promptings of the Holy Spirit, and actively apply His wisdom in your life and your community daily.
Shalom

Wrapped in the melody of His presence

‘The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you…”’- Ex 33:14, NIV
JESUS: ‘And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age’ - Matt 28:20, NIV
‘This is how we know that we live in Him and He in us: He has given us of His SPIRIT’ — 1 John 4:13,NIV

Always means always.

When you feel weak, He remains.
When your heart trembles, He stays.
When you cannot sense Him, His Spirit still surrounds and fills you.

The love of God is fierce enough to tear the veil, strong enough to conquer death, yet soft enough to carry the weary, and ever so tender to whisper peace to the anxious heart.

Today, hear the invitation of heaven again:

Come away with Me and dance in My presence.

Come away from striving. Come away from fear. Come into the fellowship of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Into the unbroken circle of divine love where you are fully known, fully held, and forever His.

You are hidden in Christ in God.His banner over you is love. And His presence will never leave you.

Shalom

Dear Beloved, I would like to share this devotional written by my daughter, Anke Pretorius

Intimacy with Jesus

Through the powerful act of making time for God — as much as you possibly can — the believer is led into a life changing intimacy with Jesus. We are not saved by our deeds, but faith requires action in the sense that you must show up for God as he is always waiting for you. Make time for Him, and invite Him into your life, following and obeying every Word that He speaks to you. Only then can you truly get to know Him: by acting in faith even when you can not see Him.

James 2:14 NIV
[14] What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?

Intimacy with Jesus is inviting Him into every small moment of your life. Asking Him to go on walks with you, making coffee and talking to Him while you drink it, and saying thank You for everything He is and for what He does daily for you.

James 2:17-18 NIV
[17] In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. [18] But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.

Prayer
Show me, Jesus, the path that leads to Your heart. Teach me to live closer to You. From today onward, I want to make the active choice to include You more in my everyday life. Show up, my Jesus, for I long for You. In the glorious name of Jesus, Amen.

Be safe, and God bless,
Johan

Worship: Preparation Matters

“Guard your steps when you go to the house of God.” — Ecclesiastes 5:1 (NIV)

One of the greatest battles in Sunday morning worship is presenting to the Lord a heart that is fully surrendered and a mind that is mentally and spiritually present.

We often prepare in advance for work, meetings, gym sessions, and even parties, yet we come to church unprepared to encounter the Lord.

A few simple ways we can prepare our hearts for worship include:

* spending a few minutes in prayer before leaving home
* asking the Holy Spirit to soften our hearts
* repenting of distractions or sin
* intentionally shifting our focus toward Jesus

Arriving 30 minutes early and joining the pre-service prayer is also a wonderful way to extend that heart preparation for what God wants to do during the gathering.

God longs to meet with us and encounter us in the gathering of believers. Let us come prepared for Him.

God bless,
Johan
