"And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.

Help me then, in every tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation,

The Lord goes before us. He already knows what will happen in the future. We do not need to fear or be dismayed because He is Sovereign, in control and works out everything for good to those who love Him. Sometimes our circumstances are not going to look great, but He wants us to draw nearer to Him, trust in Him and rest in the fact that He has got the whole world in His hands.

Living for Jesus involves surrender, and in surrender, we find the joy and peace only Christ can bring.
