Message: The Principles of Prosperity II
Main Text: Proverbs 4:20–24
Ways to Get Results
Prosperity requires intentional action. You must have a declarative life that says, "I want God to bless me," and then commit yourself to His principles.
The prerequisites for accumulating wealth begin with receiving divine instructions and revelations. As you embrace them in your spirit, they create a pathway for your progress. What may seem insignificant to you is often significant to God. If you can faithfully share your bread, the Lord can extend and expand your capacity according to His principles.
It is the principles that change problems. We only need to understand them and execute them. The Lord teaches us not to give only when we are comfortable, but to give in faith. When we respond to His principles, we open ourselves to His truth and higher dimensions.
People who constantly struggle with giving often remain in a state of lack. We must be rich in Christ and rich in life. As long as we genuinely follow Him, the Lord shall supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.
The Word of God given to us is for signs and wonders and should manifest in various ways. When a person has money but falsely claims to have none, they begin to adopt a spirit of lack. Likewise, when someone finds it difficult to release food or resources, they may struggle when their own time of need comes.
Luke 6:38 reminds us that blessed is the hand that gives; it shall be given back, well measured, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Jesus taught that we should not cling to worldly possessions but cultivate hearts of generosity.
Hunger for God
The hunger in your spirit is the trigger that causes you to pursue what you already have an appetite for in God.
Psalm 42:1
When you think on God and remain focused on Him, you position yourself to experience His thoughts and plans concerning you.
The Power of Honouring Vows
There was a woman who sought employment for nearly a decade. Throughout that period, she made a vow to God that she would give her entire first year's salary to Him if He opened the door for her. When the job finally came, she honoured her vow faithfully.
At the end of that first year, she received a remarkable promotion and extraordinary blessings, including accommodation in a foreign country and resources beyond expectation. Her story demonstrates the power of honouring God.
If God can test you with R50, He can also test you with R50,000. The tests do not stop; they continue as you grow in Him.
Faithfulness and Integrity
A business opportunity was once presented by a member. The opportunity was shared with trusted leaders, but because of a lack of sincerity and integrity, the opportunity was eventually withdrawn. Faithfulness and loyalty remain essential principles for growth and increase.
A heart fully devoted to God distinguishes a person in both ministry and every endeavour God entrusts to them.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
"He has made everything beautiful in its time."
Intentionality and Love for God
Prosperity requires deliberate decisions. If you desire wealth, you must intentionally choose the right path and follow God's principles.
Proverbs 8:17–18
"I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. Riches and honour are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness."
You cannot genuinely claim to love God while struggling to honour Him. Riches and honour flow from a sincere relationship with Him. When God comes first, lasting wealth follows.
Just as parents naturally provide for children they love, God continually cares for His own.
Psalm 100:3
"Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who made us, and we are His."
A simple act of love can move the heart. Just as a child may pick a flower and offer it to a parent as an expression of love, God desires believers who think about Him, His work, and His Kingdom.
Principles Produce Progress
Once your attitude begins to value God and His principles, His privileges become evident in your life.
Sometimes the problem is not a lack of helpers but a lack of obedience to principles. Disobedience can keep a person stagnant. As growth comes, honour and respect follow.
Seek God first. If your love for Him is genuine, wealth and honour will come. Prayer alone is not enough if there is no love and obedience accompanying it.
The heart God desires is one that wants to see others grow and succeed alongside you rather than competing against them. Diligently work on what God has called you to do.
Wealth and Relationships
Wealth expands when it is connected to healthy relationships and good networking. When challenges arise, the people around you often become part of God's provision and protection.
Covenant Through Sacrifice
Do you have a covenant with God through sacrifice?
God often requires us to lay something down before He moves on our behalf. Rather than asking God to test you with billions, allow your actions to demonstrate that you are ready for greater responsibility.
True prosperity begins with obedience, sacrifice, faithfulness, generosity, integrity, and a genuine love for God.
