Welcome to Issachar Alliance! Issachar Alliance currently gathers apostles from Southern & East Africa.

We gather apostles who are church planting in their nations - our goal is to serve these men and their teams so that they are equipped to do the work of church planting, extending the kingdom of God into new, unreached areas. Our intention is that as we serve one another through relationship, gifting and shared resource we will multiply our work to see many churches planted into unreached people groups.

Over the past three days, a group of leaders and believers in Zanzibar have invested time in deepening their understanding of God's Word through Biblical Theology training facilitated by Colin.

Serving Jesus in a context where faith can come at a significant cost, these men and women continue to pursue spiritual growth and greater effectiveness in ministry. By exploring the story of Jesus in Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, they are being equipped with a strong biblical foundation for discipling others, teaching God's Word, and sharing the Gospel in their communities.

Please pray for these faithful leaders as they continue to shine the light of Jesus in a challenging environment, making disciples - and bringing the Kingdom to Zanzibar.

Across the Issachar network, we are privileged to partner with 14 incredible men of faith who are trusting Jesus for a great harvest in their nations and beyond. We call these men "Chiefs" because we see their leadership and God-given vision to reach people with the Gospel, many of whom have little or no access to Jesus.

These Issachar Chiefs are based across Pakistan, Myanmar, Egypt, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Uganda, Malawi, Mozambique, and South Africa, with ministry impact extending into several neighbouring nations.

Please pray for these faithful leaders—that they would remain strong in their calling, be encouraged and equipped by the Holy Spirit, and see many lives transformed as doors open for the Gospel in some of the world's least-reached places.

Fabian and his leaders are gathering in Tanzania at their new biblical training centre!

They are diving into a biblical theology course that Colin is leading through while he and Pam visit them in Dar es Salaam.

Pray for their time together—that they would grow familiar with God’s Word and gain a deeper revelation of the grand redemptive story of Jesus woven throughout Scripture.

Something significant happens when leaders have a chance to gather together for a time of discipleship, encouragement, and equipping. Phil Largent recently ran training, Building the Inner Man, alongside Elton Mhango and local leaders in Karonga, Malawi, and also in Mbeya, Tanzania with Philip Mahali and his leaders.

The training focused on strengthening these leaders who are serving faithfully in ministry — diving into matters of character, perseverance, spiritual maturity and experiencing a deeper walk with God.

We’re trusting that this time together was one of strengthening and encouragement for the work ahead of them.

Here is some incredible feedback from the training Lyson led in Zomba, Malawi, with local leaders in the area.

Lyson is highly experienced in disciple-making using Discovery Bible Study (DBS) methods within small group contexts in his community. He currently has more than 50 small groups running, many of them among the unreached Muslim people group, the Yao Tribe.

It has been incredible to see Lyson share his knowledge and experience with like-minded believers over the last week, and to witness the impact this training has had - inspiring them to go out and make disciples — not just church members — who are equipped to follow Jesus, and grow through His Word.

Malawi Update: Gareth has had an amazing time connecting with Lyson, Wilfred, Luca and Susan in Zomba. During their time together, Lyson has been using his gift of teaching to encourage and equip Wilfred and his team through the Discipleship Making Movement training.

The response has been such a blessing — leaders have been so engaged and impacted by this model - and are stirred to reach others with this training. A sense of momentum is growing as more like-minded believers are connecting, getting equipped and being mobilised to make disciples within their communities.

We’re praying for lasting fruit to come from these new relationships, this training, and the impact of their time together!

Across Malawi and Tanzania, our Issachar Chiefs are faithfully serving in their nations - training and discipling leaders, strengthening churches and seeing the gospel advance in their communities.

Today, Gareth is setting off to spend time with these incredible men and women — to learn more about what God is doing through them, and to help connect key people who are carrying the same heart for mission and discipleship across the region.

Phil Largent will also be joining this time to run biblical training with key leaders. Please pray for these training opportunities and for their time of connection and fellowship — that God would unite leaders who are doing remarkable work, for deep encouragement, the sharing of wisdom, and meaningful partnerships to form as they gather together!

The 10/40 Window refers to a region that stretches across North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia between ‘10⁰’ and ‘40⁰’ latitude, north of the equator. This ‘window’ is significant - it is home to the largest concentration of unreached people groups - communities who have never heard about the name of Jesus.

Incredibly, more than half of the world’s population lives within this area.

The 10/40 window presents both great need, and incredible opportunity. By praying, going, giving and supporting indigenous leaders serving in these regions, we get to participate in aiding the message of Jesus to places where His name is rarely heard. What an opportunity, and what a great privilege!

In King William’s Town, our friend Zakhile is now training others in the same biblical training he himself received through the networks of our Issachar Tribe.

What began with one leader being equipped is now multiplying into churches and communities. We love seeing leaders raised up to strengthen other leaders, and the Gospel continuing to spread through faithful local believers.

We would love you to meet a dear friend and brother of ours, Fabian. He is a dynamic apostolic church planter based in the capital of Tanzania, in Dar es Salaam. Fabian leads a large network of churches across Tanzania. He also has a desire to to reach Swahili Muslims mainly based in the coastal regions of Tanzania and to see more churches planted in this area.

Fabian and his church are currently building a Bible training centre in Dar Es Salaam - where they are hoping to gather more leaders to be equipped and sent out to reach new areas with the Gospel.

At the moment - they are also establishing two churches in Morogoro and Geregere which is based in a predominantly Muslim area.

Please pray for the incredible ministry that Fabian and his family and local teams are working towards - for the funding needed to complete their building projects and for the enduring work of local leaders in establishing churches in new areas!
