Shine Jesus Shine

Have you ever noticed how a chameleon changes colour to blend into its surroundings? It’s an amazing survival tool, one moment it stands out clearly, the next moment it almost disappears into the background.

Sadly many Christians sometimes do the same thing. Without realizing it we slowly blend into the world around us because we want to fit in, avoid criticism, or simply not make waves. Instead of standing out for Jesus we quietly fade into the crowd, yet God never called us to hide our faith, He called us to shine.

The beautiful thing is that shining for Jesus doesn’t mean we have to be loud or preach to everyone around us. In fact some of the strongest witnesses are the quietest. As D. L. Moody once said, “Lighthouses blow no horns, they just shine.”

What a wonderful picture that is. A lighthouse doesn’t shout or call out in the darkness it simply stands firm and let’s its light be seen. In the same way when our lives reflect kindness, love, grace, honesty, forgiveness, and peace people notice something different. They see Jesus in us.

The world around us can feel very dark at times but even the smallest light makes a difference in darkness. God has placed His light within each one of us, not to hide it away but to bring hope to others who are searching for Him. We don’t need to be perfect we simply need to be faithful. So today let’s not blend into the background like the chameleon, let us stand out in the way we live, love, speak, and care for others. Sometimes the brightest testimony is not found in big words but in a life that quietly shines for Jesus every day.

Let's pray: Jesus thank You for placing Your light within me. Please forgive me for the times I have hidden my faith or blended into the world around me. Help me to stand strong and shine brightly for You through the way I live each day. May my words, actions, and attitudes reflect Your love and grace to those around me. Use my life to bring hope, encouragement, and light into a world that so desperately needs You. In Jesus’ precious name I pray with so much love and so much thanksgiving, Amen.

Please take care. God bless you and all those you love and care for.

Thanks be to God for today’s inspiration, and for the many ways He chooses to share His Word through us. To God be the glory!

Fear is loud.
It speaks in uncertainty, doubt, and worry. It tells you to hold back, play safe, and expect the worst.

But what if fear doesn’t get the final word?

Welcome to our brand new series, Faith Over Fear—a journey of learning how to trust God in the middle of life’s storms. In this message, “When Fear Speaks Louder,” we explore the tension between what we feel and what we believe.

Just because you feel fear… doesn’t mean you’ve lost faith.

In this series, we’re discovering:

How to recognize the voice of fear
How to anchor ourselves in God’s truth
How to choose faith—even when it’s difficult

No matter what you’re facing right now, this message is a reminder that God is still with you, still speaking, and still faithful.

👉 Join us every Sunday at 9:00 as we walk this journey together.

Jesus, I am grateful for all the plans You have for my life. For the ways that You have gone before me. You are in control and I know I can place my hope in You even when trouble comes my way. Please Jesus help me to have honest conversations with You when my future feels unclear. Please hear my prayers. In Jesus’ name I pray with so much love and so much thanksgiving. Amen.

Devotion with a difference today…

I’m sharing something a little unusual — a passage from Max Lucado’s book A Gentle Thunder. These aren’t my words but they made me think deeply and I felt led to share them with you. I hesitated at first wondering whether to post or not, then I thought you might find yourself pausing, reflecting, and hearing God speak to you through it — just as I did.

God Knows What’s Best!

“The problem with this world is that it doesn’t fit. Oh, it will do for now, but it isn’t tailor-made. We were made to live with God, but on earth we live by faith. We were made to live forever, but on this earth we live but for a moment . . .

We must trust God. We must trust not only that He does what is best but that He knows what is ahead. Ponder the words of Isaiah 57:1–2: “Those who are right with God may die, but no one pays attention. Good people are taken away, but no one understands. Those who do right are being taken away from evil and are given peace. Those who live as God wants find rest in death.

My, what a thought. God is taking them away from the evil days ahead. Could death be God’s grace? Could the funeral wreath be God’s safety ring? As horrible as the grave may be, could it be God’s protection from the future?

Trust in God, Jesus urges, and trust in me.

Let’s pray: Jesus sometimes this world feels confusing and incomplete, and we don’t always understand Your ways. But today we choose to trust You — trusting that You see what we cannot see, and that Your plans are always good, even when they are hard for us to grasp. Help us to rest in the truth that You are in control, that You are kind, and that You are leading us safely through every season of life. Give us peace in the unknown, courage in the questions, and a quiet confidence that we are always held in Your loving hands. In Jesus’ name I pray with so much love and so much thanksgiving, Amen.

Please take care. God bless you and all those you love and care for.

What fruit do you grow?

I’m holding two seeds in my hand but the problem is that I can only plant one. One seed grows quickly and easily, but the fruit it produces is ugly and bitter. The other takes time, patience and daily attention but the fruit it produces is sweet, beautiful, rich, and life-giving.

The choice seems obvious but in real life I don’t always choose so wisely.

In Galatians, Paul speaks about two kinds of fruit that my life can produce - fruit of the flesh and fruit of the Spirit. “The flesh” is that part of me that wants my own way, my unchecked desires that quietly pull me away from God and the fruit it produces ? Things like impatience, intolerance, revenge, bitterness, anger, selfishness, and unrest. I see it in my reactions, in my thoughts, and in those moments where I know I could have chosen differently.

But there is a better way - the Spirit. When I surrender my life to Jesus He places His Spirit within me and the Holy Spirit gently and faithfully works in me. It helps me to let go of those old ways and to grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

I’ve come to realize that my flesh reacts quickly wanting to get even, to hold onto hurt and to follow feelings. But the Spirit leads me differently, to pause, forgive, to choose peace and to walk in love. So today I pause and ask what kind of fruit is growing in my life?

Let’s pray: Jesus today I come before You and pause to reflect on the fruit in my life. You see both the good and the areas where I still struggle. Please help me to surrender those parts that pull me away from You. Teach me to walk in step with Your Spirit and to choose what is pleasing to You each day. Please grow in me the fruits of the Spirit so that my life may reflect Your heart and bring life to those around me. In God's precious name I pray with so much love and so much thanksgiving. Amen.

Please take care. God bless you and all those you love and care for.

Jesus, thank You for being trustworthy. I don’t need to understand everything that’s happening — I just need to be still and know You. You fight for me. You died for me. You are for me. Thank You. You are enough for me, and so I will place my hope, trust, joy, and future in You. I believe in You. In Your precious name I pray with so much love and so much thanksgiving. Amen.

You have confidence in Christ… but does Christ have confidence in you? 🤍

This Sunday’s message challenged us to reflect on a deeper level of faith, one that’s not just about what we believe, but how we live, trust and show up daily. Through every high, every low and every in-between moment, we’re called to walk in a way that reflects Him!
