Pastor Joy - Spirit of Bo***ge
A spirit of bo***ge is a controlling force that binds people to what they do not want, trapping their lives and pulling them backward despite their best efforts. It works to limit destinies and cause stagnation by imprisoning individuals spiritually, mentally, socially or relationally. As believers, we have not received the spirit of the world or a spirit of bo***ge to fear, but the Spirit of God and adoption, which grants true liberty and spiritual authority (1 Cor. 2:12; Rom. 8:15).
1. The Spirit of God reveals what is freely given. God has already finished His design and work for your destiny in eternity, but those blessings can only be searched out and revealed through the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 2:9–12). The spirit of the world blinds and limits you whereas the Spirit of God directs your steps and unlocks Kingdom promises.
2. You have received the Spirit of Adoption, not fear. Believers are no longer slaves to the spirit of bo***ge or fear (Rom. 8:15). Through Christ’s sacrifice, you have been adopted into God's family, giving you the boldness and authority to call God "Abba, Father" and reject every demonic limitation over your life, health and family.
3. Do not give place to the devil. The enemy cannot occupy your life unless you open the door through compromised emotions, anger, bitterness, envy or sin (Eph. 4:26–27). You hold the key to guard your heart, stay under God's covering and deny Satan any legal ground to operate.
4. Beware of going your own way. When the enemy takes influence, as seen when Satan entered Judas, it causes people to walk in their own self-willed direction away from God's instruction (Luke 22:3–4). Going your own way leads to counterfeit paths, compromise, betrayal and destructive outcomes.
5. Patience protects your destiny. Shortcuts driven by impatience or worldly appetite end in regret and condemnation, just as Judas ended up throwing away the very money he compromised for (Luke 22:3–6). Trusting God's timing builds the capacity and wisdom needed to handle the fullness of your breakthrough.
6. Overcome satanic opposition through an active stance. Every divine prophecy or assignment attracts opposition from the gates of hell that seeks to confuse your identity and force you into fleshly reactions (Matt. 16:18, 23). You must rise up, exercise spiritual authority and depend on Christ as their advocate to overcome every controlling force (1 John 2:1–2).
