A time to say thank you.
It may seem a little early in our fundraiser, but I am overwhelmed by the congregation of Holy Spirit and the larger community of East London for their incredible support of Mission for Wheels.
We have received an eclectic mix of items to auction, from quirky finds to luxury goods.
Included in those items to create a memorable evening we have been gifted in a beautiful presentation box 6 bottles of Fat Bastard wine complete with the coveted Fat Bastard golden hippo.
In addition, a magnum of Rupert and Rothschild Vignerons 2020 or if you prefer, a collector’s bottle of Anthonij Rupert Sagnac, a natural boutique brandy. However, all the items deserve a special celebration of thanks. The impact will be enormous on our fundraising project Mission for Wheels.
In addition, we have partnered with the Glenmorangie Whisky brand to bring guests a sensory experience focusing on tastings of their Triple Cask Reserve, the 12 Year Old Glenmorangie AND the 15 Year Old designed by Director of Whisky Creation Dr. Bell Lumsden to mimic the “magic of a sunset !”
For those guests who prefer to the grapes over the grains we are inviting a sommelier to assist you with sampling an exceptional brand of South Africa’s finest wines accompanied by food pairings from the new chefs at the ELGC.
In the meantime, Jenny Flemmer’s heirloom quality childrens quilt, will be auctioned within the parish by the Catholic Woman's League.
We have also received cash donations deposited directly into the church coffers. (Anita, God Bless). Our target is to raise at least R150 000 to provide Father with a roadworthy vehicle .
Mission for Wheels is definitely on the road, so let’s keep driving our project forward together and keep an eye on this space for updates.
