The abilty to Express our gratitude to the divine supporters of Dharma and Seva is a very difficult one , as a simple "Thank You" cannot fully convey the deep sense of appreciation we at Pretoria Bhajanai Mandram truly feel. Your generous contributions to our recent Diwali Hamper Drive made a profound impact in the lives of many.

Here is a short clip of the "first leg" of our 2026 Deepavali hamper distribution. The Diwali hampers were successfully distributed this past weekend 18th October 2026 in Extension 10, Lenasia.

We wish you could have personally witnessed the immense delight and joy that your kindness brought to each recipient. The "second leg" of our distribution of Hampers will take place this weekend on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October 2026, in Danville and Lotus Gardens in Pretoria. We urge all of you who have not yet contributed and are in a position to do so, to please consider contributing to a great effort in bringing some joy into the hearts of those in great need.

"Navaratri originates from two Sanskrit words: nava, meaning “nine” or “new,” and ratri, meaning “night.”

Symbolically, the night represents the darkness of ignorance and the negative tendencies within each of us, such as lust, greed, jealousy, and anger.

Navaratri is a time for inner renewal and introspection, encouraging us to overcome these tendencies and transform ourselves. Through reflecting on the significance of Navadurga, the nine manifestations of Goddess Durga.

The deeper purpose of Navaratri is to inspire positive action, personal growth, and inner transformation.

On the first night, we reflect on Devi Shailaputri, the daughter of the mountain.

Om Durgaayai Namaha 🙏🏽 – Salutations to the Mother whose worship removes our hidden negative tendencies.

Dearest devotees,

Navaraathri, the nine nights of transformation, begins on Sunday 11 October 2026. It reminds us that all change begins within our minds and the choices we make.

Over these nine nights, Mother Durga is worshipped in nine forms, from Sailaputtri on the first night to Siddhidaattri, the bestower of Siddhis, on the last. We worship Durga to remove negativity, Lakshmi to invite positive energy, and Sarasvathy to sustain that change through knowledge, leading to the victory of Vijaya Dasami on the tenth day.

Join us in celebrating the glory of Shakthi from Sunday 11 October, with Sarasvathy Poojaa on Monday 19 October 2026.

The greatest Boon (Varam) that Lord Ganesha could give anyone is the gift of Good company (Satsanggha). These past two weeks we at Shree Ayyappaa Kshetram were truly fortunate to engage with all of you, and we have certainly learnt a great deal about dedicated, devoted, disciplined and dynamic devotees like you.

A special thank you to all the devotees for sharing your curiosity, devotion and discipline with all of us.
